RE: Destination Salt water fishing in Louisiana

You may want to post a question Here to find out if you have any alternatives. This is a great time of year to fish in S. Louisiana.

RE: Help Towing setup

RE: Towing saturn Vue 2009

I don't own this car so forgive me for sounding silly, but could it be as simple as turning the light switch to "off" instead of "auto"?

RE: Saturn Vue ignition fuse

I think I found the answer to my own question with this. But if anyone has a better idea please pass it on.

Saturn Vue ignition fuse

I want to install a toggle switch to turn off my ignition instead of pulling the fuse. I'm asking for advice on various options to help with this installaion. Thanks A special thanks to all Veterans that allow us to roam free in this great country!

RE: Sway Control for 16' Enclosed Cargo Trailer

Most people will tow without sway control when the TV is a 3/4 ton truck. I would try without. You can always add sway control if you feel uncomfy.

RE: Onan broken valve spring

I've had a valve guide break on my 7K gasoline model. The Onan mechanic said the valves, spring and guides are sensitive to heat. Mine had a little grass and dirt on the back side which blocked air flow around the motor.

RE: How long does it take to start your Onan?

Thanks for the replies. I just wanted a little confirmation that they all were about the same.

How long does it take to start your Onan?

It takes a few tries to start my '03 7KW Onan gas genset. My usual routine is to crank for 5 seconds then wait 10 seconds and repeat. About the 3rd or 4rth attempt it will start. I've tried priming before starting but makes no difference. I'm just curious if this is normal. How about you?

RE: U-Haul dolly OK?

JMHO! U-Haul says this so if you have a blow out and crash going 46 MPH you can't hold them liable because you did not follow their recommendation. That said: I would rent it, use it and go as fast as you feel like going. Just remember you might be going against their recommendation.

RE: Which WD/sway control setup?

I have never used the Reese dual cam system but after talking to many people, this must be a good system. Another one that I, as well as many others, is the Equal-i-zer. Not sure about Reese but Equal-I-zer cost about $600.

RE: Bug cleaning concocktion?

I have used WD-40 to loosen up the glued on critters. But, I no longer have to because I use Rejex. Rejex is about as close to being able to rinse them off as possible.

RE: Electrical / Brake Controller Issues

You might also check behind the Explorer's plug. Lots of later model trucks have a wire harness that plugs in to the backside of the 7way plug. Sometimes these can get damaged from road debris or corroded from rain and road salt.

RE: Toyota Sienna on a Tow Dolly

I towed an '06 Sienna on a MasterTow model 77 (77" between fenders). The tow dolly fender bolts dug into the sides of the running boards. If your van doesn't have running boards I don't think you will have this problem. If you do have running boards you may want to consider a wider dolly like the 80".

RE: Heavier weight distribution bars using old head?

As per EZ-lift, the heads are the same for all weight capacities.

RE: 99 V10 - vapor lock? Fuel Pump relay? (in Sedona)

I had a '94 351CID in a class B that had simular problems. I could drive for hours early in the day. When the heat of the afternoon came into play, the engine would start to miss when I needed power. Shut it off and it would not start for at least an hour. Start off the next day and it would start all over. My problem was the fuel pump not putting out enough pressure. Had it changed and all was fine.

RE: Draw Tite 5520 Brake Controller

This means that somewhere between the brake control and the magnets on the brakes there is a short. Part of that could be that the magnets in the brakes are worn out. Do your trailer brakes work? To determine if it is your truck you might try going to a camper dealer and back up to a new trailer and plug it in to see if it works.

RE: 2006 Chev Silverado wiring

I'm almost certain the small blue wire is an auxiliary brake light wire. Try it with a test light. Let suppose you want to install a camper shell that has a 3rd brake light. You would use that small gauge blue wire to power that light. The large blue wire would be for trailer brakes (from a brake controller).

RE: How do I convert 24VDC to 12VDC for trailer lights

More Info. This is a military surplus truck called an M-34. It will need a 7-way plug as it is going to tow an enclosed trailer with electric brakes. I think it is 24V because thats what the multimeter says.
