RE: Quartzsite tv reception

Nil, Nada, Zero, zilch....Non existant! And that is with a Winegard Wingman on my antenna, too.You mean to tell me that your Wingman won't pick up a satellite signal? How worthless is that..... :B

RE: "Wind Chill Factor" and Water Freezing

Off topic I know - but have you ever heard of freezing something to keep it warm? You might see that in vineyards where the grape vines are wetted by sprinklers to coat the vines with a layer of ice. Keeps 'em from dying from more extreme cold temps.

RE: scooter question

I believe Mr Wizard may have lost his mojo on this one. :B I've been riding my electric scooter in campgrounds, RV parks, etc, for years and no one has ever said anything about being illegal. Please convince me I'm wrong.

RE: scooter question

HERE'S the one I'm using. I'd never bother with a gas unit unless I'd want it street legal. Good luck on whatever your choice.

RE: Adventure with a Tom Tom GPS...

Fortunately, airline pilots use navigations systems which cost a couple of million a pop, and you'd better believe they have accurate data. Their use of GPS is only one part of their capabilities. They also use radio navigation systems' ground stations and some complex algorithms are used to determine which has priority in the data stream. I was at Boeing when those things first appeared. Very well written and interesting. Thanks for posting Frank

RE: Adventure with a Tom Tom GPS...

Take heart guys.... You'll be comforted to know next time you are flying in bad weather, heavy clouds, driving rain, etc, where the pilot can't see 3 feet in front of the plane - he may be trusting his life and yours to a GPS that's directing ya'll to the runway threshold. :B

RE: Adventure with a Tom Tom GPS...

You'll have better luck with it after you learn a few of its idiosyncracys. BTW, Tom Tom doesn't compile any of its databases nor does Garmin. They buy them from 3rd party vendors.

RE: What...your joking!!

I'm confused. Did you have your auto towed, then asked them to pay for the tow? I thought the protocal was that you called them, explained the problem, they sent somebody to tow it. They pay the tow company. Did you purchase the policy through FMCA? PaulDonno about that other than an experience we had a few years ago. After our insurance called for a tow truck for our prior MH we had to pay $1000.00 upfront before the guy would hook us up. I was reimbursed a few months later.

RE: Classic or junk. Need advice FAST

In this market I'd not be in hurry to buy, do your home work, shop around. There are some pretty good deals from private owners. No one in the market should be paying more than low whole sale for any used coach. This is really good advice.

RE: Recommendations for Snake Avoidance Training in Surprise AZ

There's a trainer in Cave Creek which is close to Surprise. I guess these Easterners don't know about such things... Snake Proof Your Dog

Now here's Good Moderating

To me this is a great example of how a moderator should close a thread. He identify's himself. He gives reasons for closing. "I am sure that all those who travel in Mexico and those that live there appreciate how many people are concerned about their safety. For those of you who are not regulars in RVing in Mexico and South America, I suggest you take some time to read some threads. You will find that the regulars are well aware of safety issues involved with traveling, be it in Mexico, the US, or elsewhere. These find people are more than happy to answer questions relating to travel south of the border. They have even gone out of their way to help members who have had breakdowns or other problems. But, I think it also fair to say that they take offense to posts that imply they are too ignorant to know what is happening in the world and that they are not capable of making decision about their own lives. Tom This thread is closed. "

RE: Where to dump in Quartzsite?

The RV Pit Stop on 95 north. Not sure what they are charging this year.We stopped here last August & it was $7.00 to dump. I like this place - easy in & out with plenty of room.
