TT Toy Haulers

How about some recomendations for TT toy haulers? It would have to be on the large size and be reasonally nice. No offense to anyone but the missus has already ruled out the work and play versions. Be ok with me but you know how that goes!!
Thanks

RE: RZR crossways in Raptor?

Thanks guys, I'd thought about the wheel dollies but wasn't sure if I had room to turn it after I got it in. I wondered about bringing it up mostly sideways and putting one end in first but it looks like the math works against me. Thinking maybe going to HDT and putting the RZR on the truck and the RT-S in the Raptor. Be cheaper than buying a new toy hauler! The RT-S is 60" at the front, I'm not sure about the back but it is pretty wide. It just doesn't look like its gonna work.
Dwight
Note: I have the standard RZR, it's 50 inches wide.

RZR crossways in Raptor?

Has anybody tried loading a RZR (stock - no bumpers)in a Raptor crossways? I've got too many toys. The inside measurements on the Raptors is around 98", the RZR is supposed to be 96". Even if I can do that I'll still need a 14' garage. My other toy is a CanAm Spyder RT-S trike, it's 9' long. Sure would like to be able to take both of them along.
Thanks

4 6V in Raptor?

Anybody with 4 six volt batteries in their Raptor? I've been thinking about doing this if I can figure our where to put them. Not enough room in the existing area (3612). Wondered about useing the extra space next to generator in front storage. What are you doing?
Thanks

RE: Havent heard much from Fuzion owners...how are they?

Any good American made Light Truck tire (16") in at least an E rating. I have Uniroyal E rated LT tires on my triple axel Raptor. Have had zero problems pulling from Hatfield/McCoy trails in Virginia to Moab Utah usually in the 65 - 67 mph range. I see you're from Nova Scotia, we are headed up you way this June on our Motorcycle. Never been there before, pretty excited about it!

RE: Raptor Wheels & Tires

FLWanderer, you need to find out the diameter of your 235's. Subtract the diameter of the 235's from 33 1/4" distance between centers of the axels and that is the clearance between the two tires. Again, I think I have about 1 1/2" clearance. I don't know how little clearance you can get away with but what I have works for me.

RE: Raptor Wheels & Tires

When you make the switch to 16" on the Raptors you have to be carefull about tire diameter. It's been a while since I switched mine so I don't remember what size I used. Measure the center to center distance between your axels,I think maybe 33" or 35". Make sure the tire size you buy will leave you some space between your tires when they are mounted. I do remember that the first size I looked at would only give me about 1/2" clearance between tires so I went a size smaller. I have about 1 1/2" space with the size I'm using. There isn't a lot of room in the wheel well for larger tires either. I installed the Dexter E Z Flex suspension and haven't had any issues with the tires rubbing the wheel wells. I used Uniroyal LT Load range E and haven't had any tire issues.

RE: Raptor Mods

Cool, where did you order your sofa from? I'm still looking, have a free standing 2 person dinette coming. Gonna rip out the booth dinette, install the new one, and then see how much room I have for a new sofa.

RE: Raptor Mods

I bought my Raptor used. When I got home I checked out the tires and found out that I had 4 different brand tires on. One had cord showing, I picked it up late afternoon and aired up the tires, none of them had over 40 psi. I still don't know how I made it home without trouble. 60 mph and cold wet weather was what probably saved me. The 16" tire mod was the first thing I did!

RE: Raptor Mods

Raptor 3712
I bought the tires and wheels from a company that advertised on E-bay. They are located in Pauls Valley Oklahoma. I haven't been able to find him again. I bought 7 tires (Uniroyal) 6 alloy and 1 steel wheel, mounted, balanced, with center caps and lug bolts for $1150. Went down to visit kids in Edmund and then went on to Pauls Valley, loaded them up in my truck, brought them home and mounted them on the trailer, no problems since then!!

Converter

I'll be doing a couple of weeks of dry camping this summer at Taylor Park (CO Mountains). My Raptor 3612 has 2 12v batteries. I'm not happy with charge time with the stock converter even if it's plugged in. I'll have to use the gen to charge batteries. I've been thinking about replacing the converter. My questions -- what converter should I use to replace my stock one? Is replacement just unhooking wires and re-connecting to the new one? I think the converter is under the stove top at floor level so it may be a PITA to work on. Any help is appreciated.
Thanks

RE: Raptor Mods

Thanks for all of the replies. The pictures are really going to help. I guess I need to get the tape measure out and get ready to go shopping. Lots of activities planned for this year!

Raptor Mods

Went to the RV show in KC Saturday. Looked at the new Raptors and Fusions. Nice stuff but my Raptor 3612 is paid for. After looking at the new models I think I'd like to update mine. Surely be cheaper! Anyway I'm thinking of removing the booth dinette (never liked it)and the hide-a-bed sofa. I really like the table and free standing chairs for a dinette. Maybe replace the sofa with a couple of recliners. I also noticed quite a few of the new campers (not the Raptor or Fusion)have laminated floors. I like that. So, here are my questions, where do I find a small table and 4 chairs for the dinette, will furniture store pieces work? Can I install laminate flooring without the big living room slide messing it up? Any other ideas you might have? If you've done something like this do you have pictures to share?
I've already converted to 16" wheels and LT load range E tires. Installed the E-Z-Flex suspension, had the brakes replaced and all 3 axles alinged. All comments and suggestions welcome!
Thanks

RE: '09 3912 Cyclone

Damn Redwing1, you are a brave man! Ain't no way I'm going over Cottonwood with anything that big. I've got a 3612 Raptor and I go around and come up Taylor River road.
Great place to ride ain't it!! We've been out there ever year for at least a week since the early 90's. Be there this year last week of July, might go a little earlier and stay a little later!

RE: Alfa Toyhouse

I stumbled across a 39' Attitude with a 21' storage area. This would be plenty big, but as you said, not many amenities. In the past this wouldn't have been too important but now that we can stay out for longer periods of time it's hard to go without all of the "easy livin" things. Jayco has (just saw the pictures) a really plush, 3 slide, 40 footer with 14' of garage. I'm gonna have to lay our some lines and see if the RZR and Spyder will fit. I'm in no hurry, something will probably turn up that will work. If I go to an HDT I could put the RZR on the truck deck and the Spyder in the garage of my Raptor, then wouldn't need a new toy hauler. Decisions, decisions!

Alfa Toyhouse

I've seen some of these in the 40' version advertised lately. They look really good but I don't know anything about them. Anybody have any thoughts on these? I need more storage for my RZR and RT-S Spyder. Some of these have 15' of storage available. Depending on what the weight capacity of the ramps furnished with them is, I would be ok with the Barn Door version. What do you think?

Sounds good to me, haven't been there yet. We've been to Moab several times during the summer off season, maybe we could stop there on the way to Maryvale.

Macerator Pump

Hey guys,
I just used my Flojet macerator pump for the first time to dump the black tank into my septic system. Works like a charm!! Saves hooking up and driving about 20 miles round trip to dump. Now for my question, is there any way I could hook up about 6 inches of clear hose (I'm pumping 80 feet downhill) to the pump outlet so I would see when the rinse water was clear? Can you buy a piece of clear plastic hose and install garden hose fittings on it? Any ideas?
