RE: Blood Test Mania!!!

Today I took Charlie to the Vet. for an ear infection. OMG ......The cost .... $295.33 Office visit $63.00 1 ear Swab & Microscopic Exam $60.00 1 ear cleaning $ 18.40 1 junior Early Detection Plan includes blood test $65.00 which I opt for because the blood test was $40.00 This didn't have anything to do with the ears, but needed it. Mometomax Ointment 30 gm $72.19 Triz-Edta Ear Drops $16.74 Tomorrow our puppy Katie goes in for shots and a checkup. What an expensive week. Hi Happytraveler, Here is a link to Otomax. I don't know if it is the same or similar to the Mometomax Ointment 30gm that you mentioned above, but this is the product that I use on my Cocker Spaniel's. Cocker's are notorious for ear infections due to their droopy long ears. This web site also sells a generic version of Otomax and I purchased some recently. I have not tried it out as yet because I still have the remaining Otomax on hand. Sure seems to me that you should track right back into that Vet's office, with a copy of this web page, and ask for a refund (or at least a discount from their price). Good Luck... http://www.discountpetdrugs.com/ot30gmsoin.html Regards, Dawn PS: You will have to ask your Vet to give you a prescription, of course. My Vet was reluctant at first, but after a few years they do so very willingly...:B The thing is if you need the medication right away, you have no choice and If it was a on going medication I probably would try to get it cheaper. I know Charlie wasn't feeling very well and as always he tries to put on a good front. He has a yeast infection. Do you need prescription for Otomax and does it cover yeast infections, but then you really don't know what kind of infection unless it's tested.

RE: Digital Video Camcorder??

Get a DVD camcorder. Records directly to DVD. Just pop it into your DVD player. I don't know too much about camcorders. Do you pop in a new DVD every time you record something new.

RE: Santa's Sleigh Cocktail

Resurrected for the Holidays: Posted: 12/16/07 04:19pm I made these for the last 2 years. They are great. Santa's Sleigh Cocktail White sugar crystals, preferably coarse 2 cups store-bought eggnog, chilled 1/2 cup brandy 1/2 cup amaretto liqueur 1 teaspoon ground nutmeg 2 scoops vanilla ice cream 4 cinnamon sticks Dampen the rims of 4 martini glasses and then line the rims with sugar crystals. Combine eggnog, brandy, amaretto, nutmeg, and ice cream in a blender; process until smooth. Pour mixture into martini glasses and garnish each glass with a whole cinnamon stick. Enjoy! Sounds great. I'll have to march myself down to Costco and buy those cinnamon sticks in the big container.

Digital Video Camcorder??

I don't know much about camcorders......What's a good digital video camera that's not too expensive. My son has a video camera right now, but it's like one of the first one's that came out. For some reason they have to take it to Costco to get it converted to a DVD and it does get expensive. I guess right now their looking at a Sony for about $300.00.

RE: anal glands

The glands naturally express during bowel functions, but some dogs create a build-up and require "help". I haven't yet encountered a groomer who expresses the glands fully. Most groomers express externally by pinching and pulling the glands - not a fully process if the dog isn't emptying naturally. A vet does an internal probing and cleaning. Adding extra fiber to the diet can help, but it isn't enough for some dogs. Excess licking of the area indicate it's time. Eventually, you'll know your dogs requirements. That's exactly what a groomer told me. They don't go the full process as what a vet. would do.

RE: H1N1 and pets

I guess we are venting, I have a 10 mo old grandson and a daughter pregnant with twins, I also, am upset that we can't find the vaccine. My friends daughter is 8 weeks pregnant. She is so sick with morning sickness that she's been on a 24 hr. IV for the past two weeks and is bed ridden. Her doctor doesn't have the H1N1 shot for her, but there giving out free shots at a clinic with a 3 1/2 hour wait. It doesn't make since to me why doctors don't have the serum for their patience.

RE: Swine Flu Vaccine?

My dd, who is 8 months pregnant, has decided not to take the vaccine. We have a friend whose daughter is dying from the Swine Flu. She was 8 months pregnant when she caught the Swine Flu. They took the baby and baby is doing fine, but the mother's organs shut down and has been in a coma for the past 2 months. I hope your daughter thinks twice about getting the H1N1 shot. She past away a couple of weeks ago. I feel so sorry for the family,

RE: Washer/dryer suggestions on what to buy

If I went Kenmore I would probably pay $200.00 more for my washer and dryer. I went to Pacific Sales, maybe they have one in Arizona, but they will match the price and the warranty for extra years is fantastic. I don't think Sears is the same as they use to be. My son and his wife wanted a dishwasher and the price for delivery was unbelievable. They were talking about a permit to deliver the dishwasher. It would of cost them $300.00 more for the same dishwasher.

RE: Washer/dryer suggestions on what to buy

I really like my extra large capacity Whirlpool front loaders on the pedestal stands. No more back trouble since I've had the washer and dryer. You have to make sure you use He detergent and if you're not using the washer make sure you keep the door ajar and don't let wet clothes sit for long periods of time.

RE: 2 1/2 hours PC shopping.......

What do you think of the Panasonic toughbook? My daughter is a Panasonic rep, and was previously an outside rep for a major Panasonic reseller. She works with a lot of midwest police agencies and fire and ambulance districts, including the Missouri Highway Patrol. She's gotten rave reviews from them for the Toughbook. Last week she showed me a photo that she got from the St. Louis PD, showing a Toughbook with a bullet hole completely through the screen. The unit was still working, although she doesn't recommend doing that. NOTE: This is not intended to be a commercial. This IS NOT A BASH on the Toughbook. However, we have used them for about 5 years . From the CF-27 to the CF -30.. The Battery life is short, very.. We are running XP PRO and we are CONSTANTLY HAVING TO REBOOT, Get Cut off Wireless have frozen issues..My thought is that the Applications we have running on top of XP are the Problem... I have spent 3 hours in the last 2 weeks on the phone with our Technician Support Center or TSC..If I bought this at a computer store,I would have got my money BACK!!! It is this Frustrating.. We had one tech get so angry he threw the computer thru his back window... He had to go to a glass shop to avoid the boss finding out.. It is not the Panasonic, or Toshiba, or Dell... IT IS WINDOWS and 3rd Party applications... If they cant make it right, Don't make it, or try something else.. My husband would rather have my MacBook Pro than his Toughbook.
