RE: Salt air's effect on clothing

We've been here camping on California's central coast for about nine days. I'm beginning to notice that each morning my pants tend to fit a little tighter. Think it could be the salt air?:)
I have spent a lot a time on the beach and the harbor and have never heard of clothes getting tighter because of the salt air. Could it be a hot clothes dryer or maybe you're not drinking enough water.

RE: First Laptop...what should I look for?

You can't go wrong with a Mac. I've had my MacBook Pro close to 4 years now and I'm still very happy with it. The 27" iMac is on my wish list.:B

RE: Anybody updated thier Garmin?

Yes, I installed two map updates on two new Garmins and added poi's for both, plus mine. It nearly took me two days. I'm glad that's over with.

RE: How did a terrorist get on a plane???

This is what gets me going.
Abdulmutallab was added to a database of 550,000 people with possible ties to terrorism because of his dad reporting this information to an embassy official and this information was sent to Washington. I guess there's a no-fly list of 4,000 people and another list of 14,000 individuals who are required screening before flying.

RE: LCD TV Brands

I believe Samsung and Sony are the best regarded LCD manf. Panasonic is rated high for Plasma. But many folks are happy with the house brands and other competitive products.
I just bought a 23" Samsung for my PC monitor/spare TV. My routine is to get the TV model number and use your search engine to find "TV model reviews" of that model.
User reviews are usually informative if you sort out the irrelevant reivewers. The various types of input and output hookups and their availability on the TV seems to be a common source of lower review ratings.
At 48 to 52 inches, you can chose an LDC or Plasma and be at a common price point. LCD is more efficient below 50" and Plasma over 50" in construction costs. At 50", the 1080dpi becomes more relevant in comparison to a 720dpi. LCD and Plasma have different picture qualities (both good). Plasma runs hotter and is heavier.
We selected a 50" Panasonic Plasma year ago and are very pleased with it.
(Note: You can give my response extra credit, because we too maintain a MH for a Wheaton.) :)
Thanks for the information. We have one up on you. We now have two wheatens. Katie on the right is 5 months old. It's been a crazy Christmas this year with a puppy!!:B

LCD TV Brands

How does the Toshiba stand up to the Samsung, Sony or Sharp LCD's TV's? I'm looking with my dad for a 48" or 52". He likes the price of the Toshiba, but is willing to pay more for a better product.

RE: How did a terrorist get on a plane???

I too wonder how they passed this guy through, I was flying out of Pasco Washington one day last year and some guys who I knew from my racing days, were flying to Az to bring back some trucks for a dealer here and they didn't have any luggage and they were strip searched. these guys are as American as you can get.
The guy didn't get on the plane in America. Also, Timothy McVeigh was as American as you can get too.
He didnt get on an airplane and he was one in how many? I will take my chances with as American as you can get over all the other types with middle eastern sounding names
hpk
What about a guy named Richard Reid?
Profiling means more than using just a name. Richard Reid looks a lot like Osama bin Laden imo. I would think he fits the profile of a terrorist for sure.
The point I'm trying to make is you can't just rely on profiling. I'm a firm believer in profiling, but I also realize you can't put blinders on. Terrorists could come in any shape, form, or color.
My son is blond, light skin with blue eyes and had a one way ticket to San Francisco. They stopped him and he was not offended. He said there doing their job. I do believe in profiling.

RE: How did a terrorist get on a plane???

Apparently our government is not doing their job with airport security. I think we should follow Israel. I'm sick of political correctness and politics.

RE: How did a terrorist get on a plane???

I guess the terrorist is all lawyered up. He's got rights now just like you and me. Too bad because they could have got a lot of information out of him. I heard his dad is compared to the Kennedy's in Nigeria.

I don't think terrorism is our number one priority with our government. I believe they wants you to call terrorism “man-caused” disasters"
I think our flying days are over for now.
