I,m planning a trip to Jackson, WY at the end of March and was wondering if anybody has anything good or bad to say about this campground.
I saw some google reviews from 2006 and 07 and they looked REALLY bad.
I used to camp there years ago when it was a KOA, and I really liked it back then. It changed hands and I understand that the present owner wants to tear it down and replace it with condos. I think they’re just keeping it open as a campground to mark time until they can develop it.
We stayed there when it was a KOA, but that was many years ago. It may have changed quite a bit since we were there. My main comment - if you are towing or driving a MH, I don't recommend approaching this CG from the north. Wilson Rd is a beautiful drive, but for TV or toad only. Narrow, lots of trees, possibly still not paved all the way.
Did you check rvparkreviews.com? It may be listed under Jackson, Moose or Teton Village.
In 2005 I stayed in a park across from the Elk Preserve on Broadway, don't recall the name. Had 1989 - 38 ft diesel pusher then. I backed up to a split rail fence, lawn, hook-ups, and a soft flowing river. It was a sweet spot and close to down town.
I highly recommend a few days in Cody Wy. They have a rodeo that is great and the "Buffalo Bill Historical Center" which is 5 museums under one roof.

Odds are very great that all the campgrounds in the Jackson area will be closed at the end of March. It is still winter there. The roads to the Parks (Yellowstone and Grand Teton) do not open until late April at the earliest and most do not open until May and some may be closed into June. You will fair much better looking for other lodging, though the ski season will still be in full swing at that time. If you don't have experience operating your RV in Sub zero (not just sub freezing) weather, I would not roll the dice. Good Luck
As someone said, it is very unlikely that that cg will be open in March. Way too early for The Hole. Secondly, I spent 4 summers in Jackson. That place (KOA)was sold in 2006. As someone noted, the current owner wants to put housing on the property. But he can't get permits. So...it is open just to bring in a couple of bucks. It is almost impossible to get them on the phone. The place is cramped and there have been no improvements. The Virginian wasn't send overages there anymore.
I don't know where you could stay in March. I think the Virginian opens mid April or so depending on weather. Last year they had snow until mid-June. Hard to tell there. You could try the Lazy J down at Hoback Jct. 13 miles south of town. Not fancy, but FHU and WiFi. No TV and cell reception is difficult. I spent the summer there. It is VERY reasonable for that area. I don't have the phone number handy.
Good luck.
On edit: Now that I think about it, I wouldn't bother going any earlier than late May. Nothing is really opened or happening until the weekend before Mem. Day. That is the Elk Festival. There could easily be lots of the snow on the ground in GTNP and stuff in YNP doesn't all open until mid-June. Just a thought.

Thank you, I'll reconsider.
The main reason for my trip to Jackson is an installation. So i don't have much choice. I can probably bump it out a couple of weeks but that's it.
