I've used their mail forwarding several times; a friend's husband was transported from AZ to FL by private jet after suffering a heart attack plus FMCA transported their coach back to FL...the costs were $25k+...enjoyed their Perry rally & the magazine...I've been a member for over 20 years.

We needed to extend our out of country health insurance last winter and couldn't do so with our regular carrier since they required it be done BEFORE you go away. Medex stepped in with a half million $ plan for each of us that included air transport back to Canada at a comparable rate to our home plan. And did it over the phone and by email within minutes.
We also use coach-net emergency service and enjoy their ralleys and magazine too.
No complaints.

We signed up for FMCA for Coach Net. I've used them once and the service was very quick. The truck was there within a few minutes after I called. It was like he was waiting around the corner. By the time he was done jump starting our motorhome, Coach Net had an appointment set up to have the batteries replaced. It's well worth the money for that benefit alone.

Medex emergency evacuation medical insurance it a great benefit. They also have the best monthly motorhome magazine available.

Other great benefits that are rarely mentioned are:

These members are listed in the Stoppin’ Spots directory under four categories. Stop Over Spot indicates that fellow members are welcome to stop over at the volunteering member’s home for a 24-hour emergency stay.

Come Visit indicates that FMCA members are welcome to visit the volunteering member’s home for a 24-hour friendship stay, unless invited by the host member to stay longer.

Mechanic’s Helper indicates that if an FMCA member’s coach breaks down along the road in a volunteering member’s area, the volunteering member is available to assist him or her in locating quality local service.

Pinch Hit Driver indicates that any FMCA member who encounters an emergency that in any way prevents him or her from driving his or her coach while on the road may request the assistance of a driver to transport that member’s coach to a chosen destination at the owner’s expense. The Pinch Hit Drivers are FMCA members who have volunteered to perform this emergency service for fellow members who are in need.

For a motorhomer FMCA is the preferred choice over Good Sam.

We are brand new to motorhoming and joined FMCA after I researched its website. The benefits are many and I have not fully absorbed them all; however, there are some like MEDEX and the rallies that interest us. I will have a more thorough assessment as time passes. Research the website and then make a tentative decision as to the pros and cons as they affect you.

We are members of the Beaver Ambassador Club, must be a member of FMCA to be a member of some of the specific clubs. Also like the mag, Medex and Coachnet.

I devote a lot of time and energy to FMCA-- I service on the FMCA Long Range & Development Committee.

You have really received an excellent primer about some of the benefits of belonging to FMCA.

I will expand on one of the less widely known ones. There are over 500 Chapters under the FMCA Umbrella. They range from brand chapters (like Foretravel International), specific interest chapters (like Caterpillar RV Engine Owners Club, Habitat for Humanity), area clubs, etc.

Indeed there are Chapters within the 500 that would appeal to virtually anyone-- allowing you to get to know others with interests similar to YOURS.

Why are these Clubs/Chapters under the FMCA Umbrella? Speaking as a Club Officer, from a liability standpoint, this is the ONLY WAY I would serve as a Club Officer. FMCA insurance covers FMCA Chapter's Rallies and gatherings. We can not even hold a Rally without supplying the CG/Fair Grounds with a copy of our liability coverage. This costs the Chapter NOTHING-- it is part of belonging to FMCA.

Indeed, this is a hidden benefit, but is important to the many thousands who enjoy spending time with others with the similar interests.

FMCA is run by failed third world dictators. It is not an organization for independent thinkers.
