I have ordered a remote controlled Maxx Fan and Eternabond Vent Install Kit. I am installing it in the kitchen area of my 2008 Wilderness 240RKS. There is no vent there now, so it will require cutting a 14" X 14" hole in the roof. Earlier this year, Fleetwood sent me the schematics for the roof, which shows the location of the optional vent in that location. I will post photos of the install as I complete it, hopefully later this week.

That takes guts. I don't think I have it in me to cut into the roof or anywhere else for that matter. Best of luck. I look forward to the pics.

Still waiting on Maxx Fan to arrive, should be here tomorrow, will install next week. Here's a pic of where it is going, right between the light and the microwave.

And to cover all the bases, here's where it's going on the roof.

Here is the schematic drawing I got from Fleetwood, to help ensure I don't screw something up...

Well, I got the MaxxFan from Camping World, but they sent me last years model instead of the 2009 model MaxxFan they show on their website. There are some pretty significant differences, as you can see from Maxx Air's website here:

MaxxFan Website

I'm going to call Camping World tomorrow and try to ship it back and have them send me a 2009 model. It is frustrating because the reason I ordered from them is because their pics show a 2009 model on their website.

This will slow me down a bit, but I will post more when I receive the correct part and begin cutting my roof.

I got the correct MaxxFan today, and installed it. The installation went pretty smooth, but I took it slow and tried my best to "measure twice, cut once". Here are some pics of the install:

MaxxFan unboxed, ready to be installed

The location, prepped for surgery

The first cuts

The finished hole on the inside

Now, to the roof

Bright skylight...

Mounting flange sealed to roof

MaxxFan mounted and lookin' good... Here it is open...

and shut

From the inside

And here it is all trimmed up. Looks like it came from the factory

It works great, not too loud, but moves alot of air. My wife really likes the remote control, as she is barely 5 foot tall.

So, here is before...

And, after...
