Next week I plan on taking my fully loaded tt & tv by a quarry scale to get some weights enroute to a week camping vacation. Because this is a business the last thing I want to do is get in their way so I've worked out a game plan where I can do this as quickly as possible. It's a series of seven different weights, six of which will be while connected to tt and I would appreciate your thoughts as to what I'd be doing wrong.
1. Pull front tv axle onto scale for front GAW.
2. Pull just tv onto scale for GVW.
3. Pull tv & tt onto scale for combined GCW.
4. Pull tv front axle off scale for rear axle GAW.
5. Pull tv off scale for tt weight.
6. Pull front tt axle off scale and subtract weight from 5 above for front tt axle weight - difference would be rear tt axle weight.
7. Disconnect tt and weigh tv separately for GVW and subtract this weight from 3 above for tt GVW.
I had planned on getting a Sherline tongue weight scale but unable to do so just yet and again wanted to avoid blocking a business scale by taking the time to disconnect tt on the scale. I was thinking as long as I stayed under my tv rear axle GAWR (see 4 above) I should be o.k.
I WILL have a Sherline prior to next outing. Meanwhile I'd appreciate you guys telling me what I'm doing wrong here. Thanks.

You won't have to do all that as after the complete combination of vehicles is on the scale .......The scale operateor will give you the weights you want by subtraction.....done every day.....so as to be more clear....yes weigh the front axel and then your drive axel and then pull the combination on for the total weight.....The operateor will figure it out from there or show you how to.....

Might be easier to go to a local truck stop with a Cat scale. Just scaled mine last week--their scales are set up with three platforms. First weigh was TV-front axle and rear axle weights. Next was TV and trailer with no load bars. You get 3 weights-TV front, TV rear and trailer axle. Put on load bars and weigh again. They were very nice. I explained I had never been on a scale with my trailer and they told me what to do. Cost was $9 for the first weigh and $1 for any additional "reweigh" as long is it was within 24 hours of the first weigh. Total cost $11. Pain-- $0.

Actually I only have to make two passes doing it this way as long as I do it in the order I mentioned. It's all about stopping my axles at certain positions on the scale. There's a digital display that I can read as I sit there at which time I record that number and move on to the next position. No scale operator involved - I do it all myself, and the first six weights shouldn't take me more than two minutes. Then I pull off to the side, disconnect my tt and go back and weigh my tv separately.
I've pulled a dump truck on these same scales many times so I'm familiar with how they work. The owner of the business gave me permission and the price is right so the last thing I want to do is get in the way.
I was just wondering if any of you saw in holes in my formulas for calculating specific axle and Gross weights in order to stay within the parameters listed in the owners manuals.

Step 5 will give the TT (hitched) GAW. The TT axle weight is not the same as the TT GVW. Step 7 will give the TT (unhitched) GVW.
I think you can omit step 4. The rear axle GAW should be equal (within the accuracy of the scales) to the TV GVW (2) minus the front GAW (1).
Your multiple weighings should give the desired results as long as the approach to the scales and the departure from the scales are level with the scales platform.
