Well, we have the question of what is the Definition of Full-Timing. Now what would be the definition of an RV?
Is it spending x amount of years living day by day in a fifth wheel, Class A, B or C with NO S&B to go back to?
Is it snow birding down south for 4-6 months a year then returning north to your S&B for the remainder of the year?
Is it spending 3-6+ months workamping someplace before moving on to another place for more of the same?
Is it a mid to high 6 figure Motor Coach?
Or is it a Travel Trailer, Fifth Wheel, Class C, B or Class A used maybe once or twice a month even if it is used a dozen or more times a year?
PLUS, what is the definition of Recreation?
Replies can either be placed here or to the question of the Definition of Full-Timing.

IMHO an RV is a vehicle (any device or contrivance for carrying or conveying persons or objects, esp. over land or in space, as an automobile, bicycle, sled, etc etc) used for recreation (Recreation is the expenditure of time in a manner designed for therapeutic refreshment of one's body or mind.).

Agree with last 2 post. A RV is not a trailer sitting in a park without wheels, or a vehicle not moved in years.

I dont consider an RV as a class distinction. To me it's a tent on wheels.

I'm a little puzzled by the question. I think everyone here knows what an RV is. It seems you are asking about the ways in which people use their RVs. To me that shouldn't matter. ANY use of an RV is a valid use. There is no particular "way" that RVs get used that define what RVing is about more than another.

Texas gun laws says: In this subsection, "recreational vehicle" means a motor vehicle primarily designed as temporary living quarters or a vehicle that contains temporary living quarters and is designed to be towed by a motor vehicle. The term includes a travel trailer, camping trailer, truck camper, motor home, and horse trailer with living quarters.

Strange question, as EVERY STATE defines what an rv is and every state is different. So , I suppose it depends on what state you are in , that defines your question for you.

I had a van in my late teens and twenties. I considered that a recreational vehicle. I had plenty fun in it. I have a 36' DP Rv now and don't see the recreational part as a great deal of fun. Too much maintenance. Last time I was out fuel was crippling. When I'm out I'm limited to big CG's. Too far from the places I like to visit. Now it just sits. I have a Class B also and thats fun. Low maintenance and fuel isn't to much a factor. I get in all the state and national parks with ease. Good spots too. I'm seriously thinking of getting rid of my DP. I full timed for three years and was glad I didn't sell my stick house. I liked the lifestyle. If I decide to fulltime again I'll buy something under 28' and live small.

RV - Recreation Vehicle.
- Recreation - something that you want to do, not have to do.
- Vehicle - something that can move, without needing repairs to get to that state.
Somehow I think you're really asking about something else.
