"Hepa" type filters as well. I don't get them, but Medicare will pay for it. (So Apria told me.)
"I got the same bovine excrement from Apria about not being able to switch masks. I went out and bought one from look here out of pocket that was three years ago. I have not had any problems since. Apria claimed that because of my pressure settings that a Nasal Pillow would not work. My setting is 20cm on Cpap. " On page 7 of the Swift II User manual, it lists Therapy Pressure as 4 to 20 cmH2O. When I ran the extreme pressures it did not wake my wife, nor me for that matter and I don't remember having any extreme leaks show up on the Encore Pro. So the Swift II HELD the pressure.
Do Not get me started about Apria Rip off!
I never did get a refund for the piece of junk machine that they billed to BCBS FEHB, but they got their money !!

This is what I use now. Works pretty well even though I sleep on my stomach.
This is my third CPAP in just over 20 years. The new masks are so much better than the old foam rubber gasket ones.

On reconsideration, unless that mouth piece easily unsnaps to clean/soak it, that seems to me to be sort of a PIA.
Is there some way to buy a mask off the internet and send the bill for reimbursement to medicare?

That was one of my concerns too. Have to ask I guess. You know how "marketing" is.... the reality is often different. I believe you can submit claims to medicare for reimbursement...but don't hold me to that. Best to call them and ask. However...reimbursement could take a looooonnnnnngggggggg time!
I told DH last night he just needed to amass a "collection" of different masks and rotate them. Seems one will be comfortable for awhile and then it won't. It starts out comfortable...lasts maybe 3 - 4 hours...and then it starts bothering him. He takes it off... tosses and turns (drives me nuts for awhile) and then he puts it back on again.
I reminded him that he did try nasal pillows a long time back and that it caused sores in his nose and his lip. He'd forgotten about it. But..maybe they've improved since then.
People who get it right quick are really lucky. I really feel for DH when this makes him miserable. Sigh. That's why I'm asking all the questions. cts

two that look interesting to me but I have not tried them are the Nasal Aire II Canula style mask and the Infinity 481 Direct seal mask.

Looks like there maybe a CPAP for me in the near future. I usually wear a mustache and sometimes a full beard. Is there a mask that will accommodate facial hair?

I have a full beard and a mustache I use a Swift II nasal pillow. I also have Comfort Gel mask as a back up I prefer the Swift look here

I have a full beard and a mustache I use a Swift II nasal pillow. I also have Comfort Gel mask as a back up I prefer the Swift look here
