I am just wondering if any of you have taken the 3 day course? I am in the middle of the online FEMA courses right now and am looking where to take the in person class. I feel strongly that this is soooo important and am just wondering everyone's thoughts on it...

Three days, to familiarize a person for what is needed for your dog to qualify as a National Disaster Search Dog could be a good class to go to if interested (which is a good thing). However, to train a dog is another issue.
Calvin was in training for a month when he developed his idiosyncrasy and was released from the National Disaster Search Dog Foundation’s program, headquartered in Ojai, CA.
I meant the 3 day course for me...so I can be certified for disaster assistance...the images from Katrina with the people being separated from their pets just hit me hard...I want to be able to help if possible during the next one...

Sorry, I guess I still have a problem with SRD (Selective Reading Disorder)…
I’ve watched many news related coverage of the pets that were left behind in New Orleans. It sadden me to see how these animals were treated or should I say abandoned by their families.
I think it’s great that your willing to learn how to help these animals should another disaster happen.
