Hello... We are fairly new to RVing... and we are heading to Flroida for Christmas with 2 young children. We would like a park that has some fun Christmas activities for kids, but we really don't want the hussle and bustle of Disney. Is there any other parks a little farther South than Kissimee and Orlando that are kid friendly ?
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated..
Thank You

You mentioned not wanting to go to Disney. Are you referring to the actual parks or does that include Ft Wilderness?

We go to Ft Wilderness often but rarely visit the parks. We're bored with them. But the campground is awesome for "kids" of all ages. The campground is a great place during Christmas. The park is decorated and campers decorate their sites as well. Looks really nice. There are nightly activities for kids. Young children seem to think they've found paradise.

I'm not familiar with any campground that caters to families as well as FW.

Problem is finding a spot in any park for those dates. Try Encore , they own or manage many parks and have activities listed, with photos. Just google them.

I have never been to Tropical Palms as we normally prefer state parks but I had a friend who went there often with kids and loved it.

If you like the beach you could try Jetty Park, near Cocoa Beach.

Tropical Palms is popular with the Disney crowd and is often an option when Ft Wilderness is full. It's also a destination for those who want nothing to do with Disney but like the area. Not sure about activities for kids at the campground but there's a lot offered in the surrounding area.

We just came back from 2 weeks at Fort Wilderness. That is an amazing CG you don't even need to near the parks. If you are within driving distance on Disney bring the kids the Christmas show at magic kingdom it is only open to ticket holders & the kids will love it.

Jetty Park in Cape Canaveral is very nice, it's right on the beach , maybe lucky enough to catch a launch and its about an hour from disney.
