A V nosed trailer moves the forward outside box corners further back from the hitch ball on most brands of trailers so corner damage from tight turning/backing is less likely.
Been there. done that. Have the damage to show for it.

Wells Cargo trailers come with an extended tongue (e.g. Longer "V") - other trailers (like cargo mate) offer it as an option. Provides more leverage on the load and easier trailering; It also allows for a tighter turning radius.
