I would just go pick it up and consider the $500 as part of the purchase price. I don't purchase anything far away unless I can accept the cost of getting here as part of the purchase. If transporting it ends up causing it to not be a good deal, I don't buy it.

Which one did you purchase a TC or a Pop-up? Either way look at it as an Adventure and enjoy the ride 500 for fuel seems cheap enough.

I'm going to guess he got both: A pop-up TC. At least that's what he was planning on getting.

The trip is part of the fun! I went out to Denver to pick up my Outfitter last December. I have a 2WD truck, but I did bring chains. I lucked out and managed to hit I-80 thru Utah and Wyoming between storms so the roads were dry. I kept a close eye on the forecast, and the highway webcams.

I came back the southern route - I-40, but I was still trying to stay in front of a big snow storm. It was snowing on me as I drove thru Flagstaff, but wasn't sticking just yet. I pushed on until I got to Kingman. Ah... The memories! I did have a great time.

I ended up having to use the chains when I got back home. The snowstorm I stayed in front of in AZ dumped 2 feet at my house in the Sierra Foothills.

Not with a V10, crew cab, camper package and employee pricing that was offered last January.

If you're buying used, truck from Nevada or Arizona are a much better deal. No road salt is used and rain is rare so a 20 y/o truck has almost no rust.

It was new Matt. No Dealer on the east coast had a new 2008 with a V-10.

V10's are as rare as chicken teeth around here. When I was looking for a new one to test drive back in 2006, I had to drive 300 miles one-way to find a V10 with a manual tranny.

Just got a bid from a uShip driver within my price range. It will now cost me the same as going myself for fuel, food and lodging. Saving 3000 miles off my new truck is good too.

uShip is a really neat website if you have to move anything!!!

I'm a registered hauler on uShip.

There are lot's of under insured/no insurance haulers on that site.

Hate to see you lose your new camper trying to save a few bucks.
