RE: Camping with friends- Meals

We usually decide what is being grilled each night (burgers, steak, sausage, whatever) and provide for ourselves and then have a dish to pass (usually salads). Breakfast and lunches are normally planned on our own but often shared.

RE: looking for campground that allows more than 6 people

We once camped with 9 people (relatives and 4 were kids) in our HTT. When I booked, I let them know what we wanted to do. We had to pay for two sites but only had the use of one (3 cars and the HTT). We were okay with that so we could all camp together. The others have since purchased their own campers because they loved it so much. worked for us.

RE: Kid Friendly Northeast CG's For Summer 2014?

Yet another vote for Lake George Rv Park. We brought our bikes and our daughter learned to ride hers there. We took the trolley into town, watched a movie in the theatre at the campground and had a great time. If you want to go a different direction, we also enjoyed Lake Placid KOA. Great for little ones.

RE: Non cook trying to Cook in RV

I don't think it's more difficult to cook in the rv. The planning can be more work. Do I have the right pot or pan, do I have that spice, chopping tools, elusive staple that I have at home and not in the rv, etc. just make a list and you will do fine. Also your idea to make stuff at home and take it with you is great. Have a great trip.

RE: What Would You Do ?

Since the real issue is the townhouse people not wanting to pay for parking but prefering to freeload on a neighboring street, I like the sprinkler idea, I like all the neighbors parking on the street instead of their driveways idea and I will add one. If you have some teenage boys, how about a basketball net at the end of a driveway and playing bball or some street football. I'm not suggesting they damage already parked cars (at all) but I know I wouldn't park where accidents might happen nor would I park where I'm interrupting kids having fun. I'd even consider having impromptu neighborly 'hang out and visit in the street and chitchat' get togethers every night just to make the Parker's uncomfortable.

RE: If you had $9K....

Originally, I wanted to say I'd use the mony to refinish my basement but now I think I'd give it to mikebrez and lrovover. Their choices are way better.

RE: How To Complete A Private Camper Sale

We have sold several vehicles to personal buyers. As someone else mentioned, be sure to use the words as is and VIN Number on the bill of sale. Get a signature and deal in cash.

Anyone want a s'more?

Since this post will put me into senior status (I believe), I thought I'd have a campfire and invite you all. Make a s'more, grab a beverage from the cooler or a cup of coffee from the carafe on the picnic table under my awning and grab a chair.
I've learned a tremendous amount from this forum and enjoy hanging out here. So thank you members and mods for all the great knowledge that is shared, interesting trip stories, campground recommendations and fun.
(apparently brilliance comes with this new title because I noticed emoticons for the first time:) )

RE: Do the animals know?

About 5 minutes before the current band of snow hit today I heard geese flying over the house. They were probably wishing they left yesterday.

RE: Retirement gift - Updated 1/23/13

To build on LEN retireds idea what if the sign said something along the lines of retirement home. Such as, "Janes Retirement home" with maybe the pine trees or a likeness of her RV carved into it.

You are correct, those state parks only have electric with water nearby. Good luck in your search!
