RE: If you have a few Million $$$ lying around
If you did a search, you'd find several threads about that thing, with the same general concensus, that even if we had that kind of money, we wouldn't blow it on such a Butt ugly thing as that.
RE: List of places to visit, recommendations?
Unless you REALLY like to see the world behind the windshield I would scratch off the Trans Canada highway UNLESS there are places along the way that you want to visit. Just driving for driving sake, with an RV, doesn't make sense.X-2, I've never done the TC highway, but I have to agree that just driving for the sake of driving it's self doesn't sound like fun to me.
In fact, if I could get Scotty to beam me & my MH, I wouldn't drive at all.:B
RE: Height clearances of overpasses and bridges
We are new to RV'ing and have just purchased a Class A 45' RV. with the vertical height of 12'9". Our plans call for us to travel from Jackson, MS. to Branson, MO. using I55-I40-US65. Are there any bridges or overpasses that would hinder us with the 12'9" height of the RV.?
Also, any opinions on Treasure Lakes RV Resort in Branson?
Thanks,
XrayA little OT, but, you are new to RV'ing but you jumped directly into a 45 footer? God Bless you sir, you are truly a brave man.:B

RE: I95 Places to Avoid
The worst stretch of I-95 runs from Richmond VA to north of Boston MA. If you can plan the day of the week and time of the day, it's manageable. Otherwise, look at I-81 as a slightly longer, but prettier ride with less traffic. Camp on!I avoid everything on I-95 north of Fredricksburg, that way I can hit 17 north to I-66W to I-81
We are just south of Fredericksburg now at camp. We have friends we're seeing today in Alexandria and heading out on the route you suggest here tomorrow. 95 to 17 to 81 to 84 to 91. Thank all of you for your inputs.
FYI. 95 from Savannah to south of Fredericksburg wasn't bad traffic wise. The roads were a little rough once we got into VA especially a few river bridges. GPS took us around Richmond on 295 (bypass??). What's that about? I wonder if that was wise or not, but it worked out for traffic.I-295 around Richmond, has far less traffic congestion, & far less accidents & backups, plus the speed limit on 95 through town is 55-60, on 295 it's 65-70. I always use 295.
RE: Which gutter extensions work ?
Hi All
Please tell me what specific type of gutter extensions you are using for the Allegro Open Road ?
I bought some at WMT & after trying to install them, I do not think that they will properly fit into the rain gutters.
We have always used the old spring type clothes pins but I thought that it was time for something more permanent.
Many thanks !!
Bill in FLI use these, http://www.campingworld.com/shopping/item/rv-gutter-extensions-4-pack/27731
RE: Does anyone
Hey gang ... thanks for the mention! And yes, I am now "Professor Stew" teaching that next generation of broadcasters. But I am out there shooting these days. Here's the latest ... an RV Christmas adventure in Arizona with my sister, in a 40-foot Fleetwood Providence.
Have a look.

Safe travels everyone!
Stew OlesonGreat to hear from you Stew, you're teaching the next generation of broadcasters, now all we need is, someone to teach the current generation of Program Directors what we actually want to see. BRING BACK RV TODAY !!!!!!!:M
RE: West VA help needed
I would take US20 south to I-77, then:
I-77 North of Beckley. Rt. 19 North to I-79. I-79 North to Weston. East on Rt. 33 to Harman. From Harman, take Rt. 32 North to Canaan Valley.
I wouldn't take the shortest route in WV! Ask me how we know.... LOLAnyone who's been to Southern WV knows that, "shortest" isn't always best. I think thats where the term "You can't get to there from here" originated. :B

RE: leaving vents open
Four screws holding her down. Plus the vent fins to them are facing backwards. Now if you are doing 70mph in reverse...... If you are doing 70 backwards...... I'll be in the WalMart parking lot till you go by. :B
RE: SurgeGuard power Protection SALE !!
That's a very reasonable price, I bought ours five years ago on sale for $279.00. Very cheap insurance for something that might not happen to you!The Surge Guard 50A Hardwired is still $279. at Dyers, http://www.dyersonline.com/trc-50a-hardwired-rv-surge-guard.html
RE: Whose Class C OR I finally joined the Wally World Crowd
"I really wonder if someone stole this RV last October, drove it here to cook meth, then abandoned it. I don't know why Wally World hasn't investigated this RV since it is in this condition and has been sitting here this long."
Are you sure it's been there that long, or has someone put it there recently, driving on the expired tags? :h
RE: Whose Class C OR I finally joined the Wally World Crowd
Also note, the left side window in the overhead bunk is open, it's probably got a lot more problems than the awning, especially if it's been there with all the rain thats come through that area. :S
RE: Where is the best place to camp in New York?

You can start with these, but by no means is this all, there are also many private CG's in the Adirondacks.
RE: Cades Cove Question
Was there May 6-11th. There is no gate at the campground. The gate for the Cades Cove drive comes after the campground. You can come and go at the campground any time of night.See, if you hang around here long enough, you'll get a real answer. :B
RE: Another Newbie with 0 Knowledge about RVing
If you've got a friend, or a relative that has an Rv, I'm sure they'd be glad to show you, or if you get it together enough to go to a campground, most other campers would be glad to help you out.
Some campers are rude, obnoxious, mean spirited and anti social, then there are the other 99% of us who are happy to help other campers.
RE: Another Newbie with 0 Knowledge about RVing
So I picked up a used 1997 Fleetwood Tioga T29Z that only had 27,000 miles on it, it was the only older Class C that I had seen which had 4 bunks in the back room instead of one queen bed, seemed kind of rare. I have been reading all through this forum and I think there is just a ton of info that I am getting overwhelmed so I figured I would just ask my questions and hope to get answers or directed to a thread with the correct answers. First off, I seem to have two issues with the Motorhome, the first is the Generator (Onan Microlite 4000) will not start, it turns over, but it does not seem to be getting fuel. So It could be a fuel filter, Fuel Pump, or Carburetor I assume. Are you trying to prime it first?, on mine, I hold the button down, in the prime position for a minute then try to start it, if it's been sitting for a long time, you may have to do this more than once. Also, if it runs off the main chassis tank, make sure you have at least a 1/4 tank of gas in it, they are made to shut of when the tank gets down to 1/4, also look around or ask the previous owner if he installed a fuel shut off valve in the line. The second is the fridge, the previous owner told me that it is an electric/Propane fridge, but that the electric portion never worked since he had it, but the propane did so he never bothered to fix it. With that said, here are my questions.Did you, or he check the fuse for the fridge, it runs on 120v but it still requires 12V to run the circuit board. either way, I would have it fixed, because if you camp in a campground with hookups, electric is free(or figured into your site fee) propane costs.
1. Is there a check list of what I need to do get the living quarters ready? Not a check list of what to pack but, how to get it all working. For example, it is parked in front of my house, now what? I read through all the manual, but it is vague and does not give you a how to step guide on how to get started. Do I have to turn certain things on first in a specific order to get everything working? Note, since the gen is not working at the moment, I was told I could plug in Motorhome to our house, but not to run it very long (Less than an hour and a half maybe), especially the AC, and not the microwave and AC at the same time.
2. For me to test the fridge, other than having the RV plugged in to get power to it, and me turning on the propane, is there something else I need to do to ensure the propane is making it to the fridge and the rest of the appliances? The easiest way to purge the air from the propane lines, (after you turn on the propane) light one of the stove top burners after it is burning good for about a minute, turn it of, the air should be out by then.
3. Is there a main power switch that kills power to the whole unit? Kind of like an on and off switch to the whole living quaters? Many, if not most, have a battery disconnect switch, which disconnects the "house" batteries, many, like mine are near the floor by the door.
4. I have a red rocker switch below the steering wheel to the right, what could that be for? It could be most anything, especially on an older unit, could be something the previous owner installed, I have a button to the lower left of my steering wheel that is an emergency start button that connects the house batteries to the chassis battery.
5. I have located my Black and Gray tanks and where they are to be emptied, is there a location to empty my Fresh Water tanks? Mine has a drain valve right next to the tank that goes to a tube through the floor & empties under the RV.
6. Lastly, do you guys trust your local RV dealers to do service on your RVs? The reason I ask is it seems the majority of the RV dealers in my area (Austin, Texas) seem to have way more bad reviews than good ones. I mean, in my searching I have yet to find one with consistent good reviews. Is this normal in the RV industry? Some are good, some are bad, & some are so-so, you may need to wait for someone from your area to answer that one.
Anyhow, I have a ton of more questions, but Let me get these out of the way first.
RE: World's Most Expensive Motor Home
Not our style, in fact don't think I'd take it if they gave it to us!
I gotta agree. That's a pretty ugly vehicle in my opinion.X-3, Fugly.:S
