Crazy Class A Driver in Boston

Just saw this on CNN. :B Some guy ended up in the super-tight streets in the north end of Boston with his 40' motorhome. Tore up the MH, buildings, and at least four cars trying to get out!!! :S Link to News Report

RE: Myrtle Beach Experts?

x2 on Ocean Lakes. Its a full-service 'mega park' with lots of things to do on-site, minutes away from Wal-Mart/Grocery shopping and about 15 minutes south of downtown Myrtle Beach. Its also on the 'right' side of things to keep heading south to Charleston. Todd

RE: Time to renew registration, $$$ ouch!

In North Carolina, we pay $20-30 a year to the state DMV for tags. Property taxes are paid to the county. My wife bought a 2008 Hyundai with a $12,000 +/- value last year...she isn't happy with the $300 tax bill! "My" 20 year old van...$22.00!!! Todd

RE: Christmas week camping on east coast

James Island and Wilmington are good choices. If you make it down to Ocean Lakes in Myrtle Beach and stay through New Years, they have a party and a New Years Day Polar Plunge. Three or four years ago it was warm enough that the teenage girls spent most of the week in their bikini's!! While its not 100% Christmasy, its a fun alternative to staying home. Todd

RE: Idiot In-laws

Can he take MY kids? I'm okay with my kids...may I nominate other members of my family? :B Seriously, I would politely explain that you would fear for the lives of your kids if they rode in the rig. They can either take your concern seriously, or blow you off...either way, your kids are safe. Todd

RE: Thor MotorCoach ACE - Why the small black tank?

I agree thats a bit small for a Class A, but it takes a LOT of business to generate 25 gallons of poop and pee! If you like everything else on the rig, and all other drains go to the grey tank, I wouldn't make it a deal-breaker. Todd

RE: Cargo Van as TV

We tow with an E350 15-passenger van. It does find and I love all the cargo space (we usually run with one or two bench seats. The 'trim' adds weight, but it is a much quieter ride than an a naked cargo van. As far as seatbelts, I believe DOT requires them for all seats in most vans/buses except for the big school buses. Check your towing capacities. Compared to cargo vans or pickups, passenger vans do tend to have reduced capacity. I think this is jointly due to the weight of the seats & trim, but also to the potential of 3000 pounds of passengers!! Todd

RE: Humerous News Story

It's probably fiction, but there are some pretty dumb crooks out there!

RE: *** OCEAN LAKES CG 8-31/ 9-6***

Have Fun. We didn't get out much this year, and with my job ramping up, it could be next spring before a weekend opens up :( Todd

RE: Redwoods - recommendations?

I don't know the size of your rig. If it will fit, Grizzly Creek SP near Fortuna is really cool and off the beaten path. It is on Hwy 36, but the crazy switchbacks don't start until after you get past Bridgeville. In this area is Ferndale, Redwoods National Forest parks, the Lost Coast drive(Mattole Road). Don't take your camper on it!!!

RE: Help. buying new pop up.

I'd want to see the "new" section up against the "old" canvas to ensure it didn't look different. Todd

RE: Looking for safe and effective flea shampoo

We have used regular 'people' shampoo over the years too...even leaving it on them for 10 minutes drowns most of the fleas. A related product is Capstar. This is an oral pill that you give your dog. It will cause all the fleas on the dog to die within 15-30 minutes and keeps working 24-36 hours. This is a great treatment to start with, followed by standard treatments. Todd

RE: travel trailer floor

Hi, You really have to open the damaged area up and see what's bad. Here is a thread I started back a few months. A "little spot" ended up being a 2'x4 repair. Clicky Todd

RE: Need Help With itunes

Try burning it to an audio CD and use iTunes or Windows Media Player to rip it as an mp3. This strips any issues out of the equation. Todd

RE: Flat Roll Up Fresh Water Hose

I've got one of the "hard plastic" ones at work that a former coworker insisted was a great product. While is stores neatly, the water flow is so constricted, you can't get much put of it. I have tried it to hose the exterior down and other maintenance chores...it has failed miserably! Just my 2-cents, Todd
