RE: 5 inch thick mattress for older Lance

You can buy a 4 in memory foam mattress and then cut it to size. We bought a 4 in. Memory foam California King for our fifth wheel from Overstock.com for $150+- delivered and love it.

RE: 460 Ford engine problem

The mid 90's Ford motor homes had fuel pump problems. It usually acted up when the temps outside were in the upper 90's and the fuel tank was less than half full. The pumps would get hot and cavitation (bubbles forming inside pump)would start, then vapor lock the fuel line. Ford has an upgraded pump to fix the problem. If you shut off the engine and let things cool down the engine would usually start right back up.
The tank usually needs to be dropped to replace the pump. I have read where others cut a hole in the floor (under the bed) over the fuel pump to remove the fuel pump.

RE: I want my 200lbs

It also could be as simple as the tire ratings on the 4X4 may be greater than thw 2 wheel drive.

RE: Will adjusting B&W pivot arms forward help ride?

Are the original shocks still on the truck? If so replace them first with a quality gas shock. Then pull the trailer and see if it helps.

RE: Towing MPG with my 13 F150 EB Maxtow.....

I'm kind of surprised that you only get 15-16 mpg on you daily commute. My f350 dually PSD gets 18-19 mpg on my daily commute, I'm 86 mile round trip, Average 500 miles a week on the truck, I'm stock with just a 4in turbo back exhaust.

Could you add a longer platform, like a receiver hitch carrier and turn the generator around or sideways?

RE: Looking at a diesel, but not sure?????

Have the dealer pull service records on it. If the oil as been changed regularly and all the recall and flashes have been done you should be good to go.
There are a lot more 6.0 engines w/o problems than bad ones.

Just remember it only has a 1 year warranty, where the Progressive Industries is life time, and isn't that much more than CW sale price.

RE: Dually rear tire question. New tires steering sloppy.

I run all mine at 70 lbs, at 80 lbs. it's a little squirrelly and rough ridding.
I also run AT tread on all six tires. Mixed sets can handle differently due to sidewall flex and tread pattern.

RE: Dutch oven cobbler...with a twist

It's a guarded secret, and my wife won't give it to me.;) I'll get it a post it.
We've only made it once in the DO, and it was real good, but I'm thinking of a variation with apples, whoa just got a chile thinking about how good it might be. May have to make it this weekend.

RE: In-dash air conditioner - Worth converting or fixing?

Another thing to look at is the dog house cover and the seal. You'll want the seal to fir tight and either the inside and or outside of the it well insulated. We made a dog house cover for our old Dodge C and use Reflectix 4 ft. x 25 ft. Double Reflective Insulation and made the blanket to wrap the Dog house, and continued it under carpet in the cab. We (well the Wife) made a cover to dress it up. this made a big difference in the heat in the cab.

RE: Dutch oven cobbler...with a twist

I made a bread pudding with pecans in the DO last weekend for the first time. A little caramel over the top, yum yum. Problem was there wasn't any left over for a midnight snack.
The cherry with chocolate cake mix is good. I have made it with and with out the DR. Pepper. I usually put the fruit in the bottom then the cake mix on top.
Peach, apple, 3 berry (blackberry, raspberry, blueberry frozen mix from Aldi's) are others I have made.
Top any of them with homemade ice cream, even better.

RE: Should I be worried about an RV that is too long?

Let me say that we tried the personal radios(modern day walkie-talkie's) and I went to using our cellphones, due to the DW not releasing the talk button so I could talk to her.

RE: Verizon Internet Access

We have a Cradle Point MBR 1000, and a Verizon 4G USB air card. We use this combo both in the house and RV, and have had no problems with it, other than at home the Verizon signal is weak due to (according to Verizon) Too much foliage between us and the tower. We do site in a small valley, but have full bars just
east of the house about 100 ft. On the road, I can see the tower we pull off of. I may have to cut several trees down to get better signal. The trucker antenna doesn't help at all. I may have to put the antenna on a taller pole, but that's next falls project.

RE: Why do your kids keep yelling at our dogs?

I enjoy the sound of kids playing, the smell of campfires. It can all be ruined by a couple of idiots, who, as I have seen usually have been drinking most of the day. At the CG we've been volunteering at for 8 years. I have seen a big change in the campers. More and more families (with kids) are returning to or just starting camping. It's fun to watch the first timers getting everything setup, but when it looks like they are really stumped, One of the veteran camper will walk buy and say hi, and start a conversation, and offer a word of advise or a helping hand. We've made a few new good friends that way. Their are a few that that just don't want any help, and that's OK, they'll figure it out, or will came and ask later.
I grew up camping, Scouts and family in tents, then travel trailers. Saw 46 of the fifty states and across both borders whale still with Mom and Dad, 3 sister and a brother. Now our Son and his family and our Daughter love to camp.
I think anytime a family finds something they enjoy doing together, it just brings closer together. With the economy being what it is these days, most can't afford to take the big expensive vacations they used to, so they start camping.

I get enough junk mail I don't need to buy any fire starters, but thanks for the idea. We don't see many pine cones here in Eastern Kansas. After thinking about it it's most all of Kansas.
