I always seem to have this problem when I fill my fresh water holding tank which I don't do often. Way before it's full water backs out of my fill hole like the tanks full. I have a 50 gal. tank and within a couple of minutes of filling with the hose, out it spews. I have a Cedar Creek 37RDQS for what it's worth. I checked the manual and it says remove the fill cap and vent plug and fill. I can't find anything that looks like a vent plug. Can anyone help?

You may have a plugged vent line on the tank

Had a similar problem with a trailer, and it was because the hose that runs from the fill port to the top of the tank had a low spot in it. When that low spot gets filled with water, it wants to spit back at you.

I solved it by cutting a piece of a white hose about 3' long, attached that to my fill hose, and inserted that down the hole so that the end was past the low spot. Solved that issue and the tank filled faster too.

The vent is usually in the same area as the fill. In this pic it's in the 5 o'clock position.

Thanks pounds. I keep a piece of hose that I cut the fitting off the fill end and tried running it way down in but it was hanging up and I didn't want to punture the fill line but I might try again. I keep going out to the camper and each time I get a little more water in it so that might be the problem

I don't know what your manual is saying about a vent plug. I've never seen a vent port that had a plug.

Now I use one of these, and it does a pretty good job of preventing spit back.

911, I have exactly what you have pictured as far as the vent but there is nothing attached to it from the inside which tells me I have no vent.

Take a piece of hose and fit it tight to the vent and blow in it to clear the vent tube.

I also rarely fill my FW tank that full. On the few times I've done it, water has spit back out through the vent hole. The last couple of times I kept the hose in and running just for spite. The water quit coming out of the vent in less than a minute, then a big rush of air, and I was able to finish filling.
