May 21st we lost a transmission 20 mi outside Ely, Nv, Ford F450 towing a 33' 5th wheel. I am pleased that we had a tow in less than 1hr and they towed truck and trailer to the KOA in Ely arriving at 10pm. The next morning the tow returned to take the truck to a repair facility, I had already told Good Sam that the truck was still under warranty, made no difference so we proceed to a Dodge dealer who said maybe he could fix it, next it goes to a local Diesel repair says he's never worked on a Ford Torqshift before. I finally called Ford Roadside and they had it towed to Elko, NV to the Ford Dealer. The torque converter seal went out. I commend Good Sam for the tow to the campground but when they say qualified repair facility and the vehicle is under warranty then that means to the dealer in my opinion. So here we sit in the RV and the truck is 185 mi away. Yes we got a rental car that is being partially paid by my extended warranty.
Thank you for your post Garry&Gayle. We apologize for any confusion or additional out of pocket expenses during your disablement. Please send me a private message with your Good Sam and contact information. Upon receipt I will contact you to discuss and clarify your questions. Thank you, Zach
You know I understand the privacy issue related to these type of Good Sam representative replies (wanting a private message), but it would be nice to the rest of us to learn the generalities of a situation like this. So, in addition to helping out the GS member with his problem privately, couldn't you also post (in general terms) the outcome of his situation here for the rest of us who may have the same problem currently or in the future?
