That is actually a very good system, as it would also pick up a weak fuel pump, gelled (not flowing) fuel, and many other issues that cause insufficient pressure.
Do you know if it is an "on-off" type sensor, or one that gives a proportional reading?
Not sure.

Yeah, unless you're the OP and you haven't received one answer to your question.
Yep, actually drove to all of these places---in the last eight years. Missed Rhode Island and New Jersey.

The very first response gave you the correct interval.
I'll give it too you again seeing that you missed it.
Change the filter at least once every two years,or by the filter life indicator in the DIC.

On my 2005 I change it in the spring before the towing season and in the fall when the towing season ends (in other words about every 10k - 15k miles) no matter what...

You must have not read my first post. I asked about mileage.
I've had 4 Duramax's going back to the first year 2001.
The mileage change interval was 15,000. On susequent trucks with filter life--it always got to zero around 15,000 miles. As I recall the manuals on some or all of those trucks listed the filter change at 15,000. I might be wrong I had a 2001, 2004, 2006. Anyone with those can look at the manual and tell me I'm wrong.
So, I was kinda thinking my 2012 truck would also be 15,000. As the truck has 15,000, I changed the filter. Even though, the filter life was at 76% remaining.
I'm going on a 1700 mile trip this week. We will see if the filter life is 88% when I return.

For those who rely on the indicator.... what if the sensor or programming goes funky?

I read your first post. If you have an LML,you should also have the diesel supplement that came with the owners manual. If you actually spent the time to read the supplement, you'd discover there isn't a mileage indicated as to when to change the filter.
So now you've gotten two correct answers as to when a filter change is required. Apparently you don't want to listen to either of us.
So feel free to sit and pout because you didn't get the answer (which doesn't exist) that you wanted.
