Thought I would use the expertise of this forum before searching further:
My automatic awning works off a remote. It opened fine, but in closing the awning it stopped halfway. I could close it the whole way by pushing up on the bar while I held the remote button down. Just replaced the battery in the remote so I don't believe that the problem. There is also the manual button and that did not work any differently. any help out there?

Awnings are fun. Two shot in the dark suggestions as I am not familiar with your model, type etc.

First, my automatic awning is sensitive to low battery power. Check batteries.

Second, if you system is tied into the weather station with automatic retract try turning off the weather system and/or do a reset of the set with the remote. On my system the reset requires pushing the bottom two remote buttons for 10 seconds to reset. Good luck.

I'd also check and lubricate all the moving joints with a silicon spray or light oil. Good luck.

I experienced the same problem with my awning and found the 12VDC plug that connects the awning to the coach was the culprit. I cleaned the 4 sockets with a paper clip and the 4 prongs with emery cloth and this cured the problem. I have to do this about once a year when the awning is slow to retract. This could possibly be a solution for you but I don't know how your awning is configured.

If all else fails it only costs about $1000 to replace the motor, and wind sensor and operator. ( Ask me how I know.)

Good advice here, as mine does the same thing.

Never even gave any thought to lubing it for starters lol.

Also, if you have awning light strip inserted in the groove and leave it there when retracting, this too can make it slow. Even making an older motor burn up.

If it is a Weather Pro it is a known problem, motor cuts off , after 2 boxes and sensors, we wired ours direct. Problem solved.
