I bet you were glad to see this bone-head leaving the area... Just goes to show there are "Sheriffs" everywhere... I guess peeing on a tree would not go over good with him as well...

If you were going to dump he would have been a hero in this forums eyes.

Even though I disagree with his blunt approach I like his pro-activity.

Thank you Sheriff Tom N...

Problem here is he assumed the OP was going to do something wrong without actually waiting to verifying that the OP was doing something wrong...as stated the OP was leveling their RV...end of story

Strange. I think some of those remote nat'l forest campgrounds may attract some strange folks?

Obviously, this guy was a nut -- it is stupid to yell at someone without first making darn sure that you are right.

But this raises a related question -- I often see folks doing bad things in the national forests, such as riding ATVs or dirt bikes across the countryside, smashing the bushes and tearing up the dirt. My instinct is to get in their face - but my better judgment (also known as "my wife") persuades me not to. Her theory is that anyone who knowingly violates the law and trashes the landscape is not going to be persuaded by a few well-chosen words and is likely to be both drunk and armed.

99% of the off-roaders are good people who would never do such a thing --the 1% just ruin it for everyone else. The same goes for the black water dumpers, who are a tiny fraction of the boondockers. They give us all a bad name. But they don't care.

Bottom line -- there's nothing we can do about it. You could try to call a ranger -- but they are thin on the ground, and there is no cell coverage out in the boonies most of the time.

You have no control over what other people say or do. You have 100% control over how you react to others. I refuse to let some one else ruin my weekend.
