The plus to our patio awning is that it's attached to our slide-out. Doesn't matter if the slide is in or out, we have the same amount of patio coverage.
But, for those that have the awning above the slide, it might be an issue. Myself, I would rather have the additional slide-out.

Interesting, all inputs make sense. I like the Traveler in that the slide is only the dinette and is all behind the entrance door that's located about midway so space inside and space outside for sitting. Like all the different floorplans, a compromise.

we avoid them on the passenger side because of the higher risk of "run-ins" since we are on that side of the trailer more. especially the kids since son already has a scare on his face from a run-in with the slide when he was a year old.

they take up the normal room for you to sit out side on the lawn. But then there are TT's out there with slides on that side. I have seen a few fifth wheels out there and Keystone makes the RES321` triple slide.

Most narrow RV lots will have a 8 foot patio slab. 2 foot slide will then limit it to only 6 feet. A fulltimer buddy of mine with a 4 slide fleetwood hated losing that much patio space. This was down in Florida for the winter where much of your time is spent outside.

We love the setup
We must have the patio space. We love it outside. Need a 17-20' awning. The above is the only quad slide that would work for us.

That's one of the changes we;re going to have done when we order a new Diplomat this winter. While it may be a few feet narrower, it'll be a whole lot more usuable,

Are 3 and 4 Slide rigs really any wider inside than those with only 1 or 2 Slides?

Opposing slides in any room make a really large and open space. We like the open room feeling very much. If I want more patio space or awning shade I will bring in that slide.

I gotta agree, would sooner have the extra space inside and as said you can gain the space outside if you need to.
