RE: Does your insect repellant work?

Try it for yourself before putting it down.
WoodGlue
I have, but only about 10 or so outings (I HATE putting on anything oily). Did not work at all.

RE: Progressive RV Insurance Scam

if it says "Replacement Cost Personal Effects Coverage" up front on the first page, and the $500 limit is hidden on page 35, then it seems to me that they are trying to mislead the buyer.
They most certainly are. Everyone can decide for themselves if that is a scam or not, but they absolutely are expecting you to not read the details on page 35. They DEFINITELY KNOW that MOST people do no.
I'd call it a scam, but everyone can decide that for themselves.

RE: Mosquitos!

Thermacell is what has worked for us. Mothers-day weekend I didn't get the refill pack (I was out) and now I know how effective they are! The thermacell has always worked there before. I won't make that mistake again. Citronella didn't do anything (had 4 large torches and 4 small ones and I could hardly tell the difference). Because of that I discovered that the dry off at least isn't oily or smelly, and works okay.

It's nice to see that you are finally getting the attention you deserved, if a little later than it should have been.

RE: RV Fuel Issues & Prices - Post 'Em Here!

I paid $2.75 in Vallejo on Thursday. But, that was with a $1 off from Safeway. ;)

Higher octane will not hurt any vehicle. Lower certainly can...

RE: Cigarette Stench

Febreze works fairly well, but requires several/many applications. Not sure how well it would work on hard surfaces, but it might be worth a try.

RE: Better Than Wood Blocks!

That doesn't look like a problem for lynx levelers to me. They don't have any problem holding up my MH when I need more lift than in your picture. :D

RE: Better Than Wood Blocks!

Have you broken one of the orange lynx levelers? My experience is that anything that would break one of those would also break wooden boards. The yellow ones break easily.

RE: Tires, replace or not

With non use and sidewall cracks it's probably time to replace them. However, my MH spare was a Michelin that was 16 years old and never used. It was stored covered (in a compartment on the back of the MH) and is still working after being put in service last year for several hundred miles. It had numerous sidewall cracks but held up fine. I am replacing it now, 17 years is long enough. :)

RE: Walmart I10 Gulfport refund coming

I completely understand the don't screw it up for the rest of us. But, that requires that someone care about "me" doing those things. And THAT is what I don't understand. Why on earth would anyone care if "I" am "camping" in a Wal-Mart parking lot? As long as I don't cause them to be concerned for their safety, why? If "you" are driving by a Wal-Mart and see someone camping other that being concerned that they will "screw up the privilege" why would "you" care?
That's what I don't get. Why the need to control someone else's behavior?

RE: Walmart I10 Gulfport refund coming

I've never understood why anyone (other than the owner of the private property) care how long I park/stay there. Why does anyone care if I camp in a Wal-Mart? Why does anyone else care if I put out lawn chairs? What possible difference does it make to "you"? I'm not hurting or hindering you in ANY way. Why do "you" care?
I'm serious, I really want to know why. For those of you who think "I" shouldn't be allowed to do these thing, I honestly ask why?
BTW, I have never stayed the night at a Wal-Mart, and likely never will. I have parked in a parking lot in the MH and slept once, but that was because I couldn't figure out how to pay for the CG and I was arriving at mid-night. I didn't want to disturb anyone and only needed to park and sleep, so I just parked in a parking lot instead.

RE: RV Fuel Issues & Prices - Post 'Em Here!

I sometimes wonder how much "someone" is making on gas sales. The Safeway in Concord, CA is selling gas for $3.62. The lowest price anywhere near there is about $3.83. That is more than $.20 higher. Many are over $3.92. That's $.30 higher. Assuming Safeway is not loosing money there is a large profit difference for "someone"...
Gas is a commodity. It costs about the same to manufacture for everyone. Clearly "someone" is making a lot more than others.

It finally came down here. After going up 2¢, when everyone else was going down we are down 7¢, fot a net loss of 5¢.

Then, as I said before, it is a scam and should be illegal. BofA refunded monies deducted when this happened to me.

RE: fuel economy

Why worry? Because if the weight makes a difference then I could save money. I don't know about anyone else, but I like to save money. Unfortunately for the OP the weight isn't going to make a difference and they won't save any money. But it was certainly a reasonable question to ask.
You asked why worry? I ask why post here if you don't care? ;)

RE: Reserve America Active Advantage Scam

If the box is already checked then I have NOT provided authorization to charge my card regardless of what anyone says. It should be illegal, but at least I can get the money immediately back from BofA if/when this occurs. The bank certainly does not consider such a thing as my providing authorization to charge my card. And yes, this happened to me, I called the bank and they did not consider that authorization.

RE: fuel economy

The guy I bought the MH from noticed no difference with out without a toad. The MH has a GVWR of only 10K and I don't see any difference between being loaded "lite" or "heavy" towing a boat.
BTW, for those of you that don't care about fuel mileage, why did you even read this thread, let alone post in it? I thought you didn't care. :h
