RE: workcamping hours

In your situation you'll have to take that up with the campground. We've done some of what your talking about for some workampers and as always, some have worked out and some have not.

RE: Kingpin movement hole size 1/16 bigger than bolt size!

You might check on the using of grade 8 bolts. I had to get my pin box fixed in WY 3 yrs ago and went to get grade 8's and was told that they're actually , in layman's terms, too brittle. So I went to grade 5 and have had no problems with my 18,000 trailer.

RE: Water Pressure Regulators

We do not use one and have not had a problem in the 12 yrs we've fulltimed inn it BUT ask around at the campground and use your own judgement.

RE: Double Tow Back Up

If both trailers are the same length it is pretty easy to work out BUT in your case straight in & out.

RE: Nissan Titan

I own a 2007 Titan 4X2 and I also own a 98 Carrylite 36 ft w/3 slides. Are you saying I should not pull my 18000#(fully over loaded)with my Titan.?

RE: i give up!!

Boocoodinkydow,
I've got 40 plus yrs pulling semi trailers all over the us. Double trailers is pulling TWO trailers and pulling triple is pulling 3 trailers.
FL does not allow doubles or triples and a lot of other states are the same.
Each state is/can be different, it is up to them. Some toll roads allow triples and most allow doubles BUT that is TOLL rd only and NOT ALL TOLL ROADS.
There is nothing more exciting than pulling three 40 to 50 ft trailers in the wind and rain. It looks like a snake in your mirrors.
Liscense classification does not have much to do whether it is legal or not. Just like ignorance of the law is not a excuse (I tried that once also)
Most State troopers do not know all of the DOT Laws. Check with
DOT and then you might get several different answers. Each person interprets the law little bit differently.

RE: Weight Enforcement Officers

After 40 yrs of driving the big ones and 11 yrsof full timing YOU HAVE NOTHING
TO worry about. If you're legal in your home domicile then you're legal for what you're doing.
As for jpjulian he is right as I paid his wages for a couple of years.

RE: CSP rv coverage

We've had CSP insurance going on 10 years and I'd like to say it has been great. The other day my wife & I figured what we'd paid in insurance premiums and what the the ins paid for and it was almost a wash out. Right now we're a little less than $100.00 pd for than what we pd for the insurance. Would we do it again, in a heart beat. The ins is good on a 5er until it is 16 yrs old. Just waiting for the Refrigerator or A/C to go out.

RE: Free Site, Work x Hours for Site, or Pay for Site?

We've done it all and really while at Crazy Horse we had (almost) unlimited hours for working and a charge of $6.00 a day for a great RV site.

RE: Southern Black Hills

We worked at Crazy Horse Memorial summer before last. Lots of different jobs, lots of hours if you want them (all hours worked pd for) I did pay $6.00 a day for RV for a beautiful full hook up at their Campground. Loved it and thought we'd be back there again BUT things changed for us, for awhile.

RE: Replace 1 Battery or 2?

Another way to look at it is like a tow chain. It is only as strong as its weakest link.
