RE: Has anybody used AntiFreeze on wet wood?

automotive antifreeze is ethylene glycol, not PEG. RV water system antifreeze is usually propylene glycol.

RE: Camping at a CG that is only 20 miles away from our home

our first overnight outing was at a party about 10 miles down the road from the house. a couple hundred people, about 8 rvs, a big dining tent, and a reggae band! lotsa fun! oh yeah, pouring rain all night. mud everywhere. kinda like woodstock without the pot.

RE: Winnebago Vent Lid For Bathroom

i wouldnt just put a maxxaire-type outer cover over what basically is an open hole in the roof. you would then have no way to close off the hole, except a vent pillow or a velcro-ed cover of some sort. the replacement vent covers are cheap. then get some outer covers. keep plugging away at it mike. eventually it will be all fixed up and just the way you want it. then sell it and start in on another one! ;)

RE: Dinner Plates and Bowls

we got a set of acrylic palm tree plates, bowls, and glasses from Kitchen Collection. while underway, only travel mugs or those clear plastic glasses with screw-on tops and straws. corelle is great stuff. we use that at home. very hard to break, but when it happens, its like a glass bomb going off. pieces EVERYWHERE! lots of energy stored up in tempered glass.

RE: Just purchased first motorhome. Not sure what I own

make sure you check the date codes on the tires. anything more than 5 years old you should start considering replacing them, regardless of their appearance. nice rig, btw. congrats!

RE: Tire Siping on 22.5's

can you even find a place that will sipe a tire that has been run? i always heard that they will not due to the embedded stones ruining the siping blades.

RE: Remove the entertainment center?

oh, no problem. sometimes its hard to tell/keep track of which way the words are flying. :)

RE: Remove the entertainment center?

rvten: no issue holding the weight. both versions are made the same. 3/4" plywood resting on the top of the cab. and the entertainment shelving/cabinets are quite heavy. G and G: my question was directed back to brownfam. he said: "I'm not going to the trouble of trying to find MATCHING paneling, woodwork/trim, etc. though." (ALL-CAPS mine) just saying that the upper bunk area does not have to match the rest of the interior. a contrasting color, texture, or material could be a nice touch.

RE: Remove the entertainment center?

and who (besides maybe you) says the paneling and/or carpet needs to match? maybe a nice, dark paneling for a warm, snug feeling up in the overhead.

RE: Don't tell Sleep Number!

oh, i dont know about *all* manufacturers being a$$es about their warranties. i called the service department for Kel-Tec yesterday to tell them i had lost a part for one of my guns. the nice lady asked me for my name and address and said she would drop one in the mail to me. now *that's* service! btw, i have had the gun apart many times.

RE: Remove the entertainment center?

yeah, the space was finished to take either the queen bed or the entertainment center. easier and cheaper that way.

RE: Class C Towing a Jeep?

yes, the longer rigs will likely be rated at 3500#, like ours.

RE: Remove the entertainment center?

i have removed the entertainment center in our rig so i can repair the usual water damage. removal is pretty simple, just pull out every screw you can find, and then go looking for the ones you missed. you may find that the walls now have many holes in them, and the once-hidden area is very dirty. other than that, go for it!

RE: Updated electomystical stuff

go to the grocery store and buy a small bottle of liquid smoke. then go to the drug store and buy a package of insulin hypodermic needles. if they wont sell them to you, just ask your friendly neighborhood junkie for a new one. dont get a used one, your thingy might catch a virus. fill the syringe with the liquid smoke and inject it into every accessible wire you can find. when you turn the thingy back on (it *was* off when you injected the smoke, right?) the smoke will automagically go where it is needed. and dont worry about the small needle punctures, the insulation is self-healing. unless you injected a virus...
