RE: Bike rack for front of TT

I bought the top pop rails after failing to come up with a better solution. The one I bought also can transfer to the truck as a hitch mount rack. It is a wonderfull rack and I found the company very informative and easy to work with.

RE: Wow, Another E-reader Announced

If you both have a Kindle do you have to buy a book twice or can you still share the same title on two readers?

RE: Life without an air compressor.....don't get it

I haven't seen "Motorcycle dryer" listed as a compressor use. The compressed air is great to get all the water, dust and dirt out of all the nooks and crannies of a motorcycle.

RE: Yellow Pages Question

I still use the one from the phone company. All the others use a lot of second hand info. Some of the worst listings are the internet listings. My business gets calls from people everyday from internet listings that are incorrect. There is absolutley no way a business can afford to pay for a correct listing in every internet or published directory. Those you don't pay for either omit you completely or "borrow" the info from another source that may have "borrowed" it from another source and so on and so on.... I frequently get calls who think we are a dentist office, an attorney(most frequent error), a bank, a food bank, and a dental lab, Bank of America and Legal Zoom.com. These are all frequent errors and when we have tried to find the source of the bad listing, it is always an off name phone book or the internet.

RE: Good Sam Visa

These companies are looking for a reason to go out of business. My wife carried a HSBC card for years and has spotless credit and had the same thing happen as the original poster. The check was posted the same day as due but after 8AM. She was nailed with a $39.00 late fee and they cut her credit limit from $18,000 to $1,200. What they didn't consider is that I had one of their cards that I use in my business and charge over 40K a year on it-No Longer!!! They alienated her and lost me just because they held her payment to get that $39 late fee.

RE: WInterizing with the pink stuff?

I bought a connector with hose barb that will fit my pump and a section of hose for about 10 bucks. The connector on the inlet side of the pump can be removed and replaced with the connector with the hose. Place the free end of the hose in the anti-freeze jug and turn on the pump. Run each faucet until the flow is solid pink. Don't forget to close the water heater by-pass valve and drain the water heater and don't forget to run the outdoor shower. You should also open the low-point valves until they run pink. When done, reconnect the existing inlet connector and pour some pink stuff in the drain traps.
My trailer takes two gallons and 20 minutes to do the entire job.

RE: SUV and hybrid trailers

We towed our 19' hybrid with a V6 GMC Jimmy and traded up to a 5.3 V8 full sized pickup and gained 2mpg non towing and 4 mpg towing. The V6 many times is not the best engine choice.

RE: Pricing Aged Inventory

While we love to think that a leftover RV is worth less than a brand spank'in new one off the line, fact of the matter is the unit is still new. If the dealer paid 12K for it last year, guess what?? It still cost him 12K!! While he may be more willing to take a lower margin to move an aged unit, it is unlikely that he will take a loss when he can sell it as new, finance it as new, and offer a warranty as new
You're looking at it from the dealer point of view.
The buyer needs to consider the depreciated value of a unsold 3 year old model camper versus the value of the current model year.
ryoung
You are absolutly right. However, since the dealer makes the deal, what other point of view really matters?? The dealer will not order another unit with the same floor plan until he moves the aged unit. You can always go elsewhere but the bottom line is he will sell the unit for what he wants to sell it for.
No, that is not the bottom-line unless the dealer is the buyer.
I guess I don't understand. How do you suggest changing the mind of a dealer who won't sell it for what you want to pay for it, other than going somewhere else?????????

RE: How do RV's Get From Mfg. to Dealer

Living in the middle of Indiana, the RV manufacturing capital of the world, I can tell you most are delivered by being driven or towed. If size permits, maybe two will be paired up on a flatbed. Almost zero are towed level or with attention to hitch set up or tire pressure. The only thing they worry about is getting it there fast, in one piece, and get back to get another one. Some FEMA trailers were shipped by rail and we all know how the FEMA trailers worked out.

Ask for a CH751 key from the locksmith for the compartment, it will work on 95% of the trailers.

DW took me for a ride!!!!

I always am up for a good practical joke and my wife has been on the receiving end many of times with a smile on her face.
Well, as they say, payback can be h***. We were on a trip last week and I needed to use the facilities and pulled into an abandoned strip mall and went into the trailer to take care of business.
My beautiful DW decided to slip behind the wheel and take me for a ride around the parking lot, not ONCE but THREE rapid loops around the entire lot!!!! I can tell you that putting a lot of water in the john is NOT always a good idea! After regaining my composure from laughing my tail off and a few minutes of cleaning up the aftermath we continued on. I swear for the last three days all she has to do is make eye contact and she bursts into laughter. I may have to rethink my practical jokes. After 31 years she is still great to keep me on my toes!!

RE: Denman Tires

The TT seems to pull better with them than it did with the Carlisle tires that blew or had a tread separation.
I was going to say the same thing but I figured someone whould say I was nuts. The overall composure of the trailer seems smoother.

RE: Picking up Rockwood in Elkhart, Indiana

You do know that Indiana attaches sales tax to every RV manufactured. They said they were loosing so much money with so many manufactures making RV's and shipping them to so many different states. Now some states say, "I see you paid sales tax in Indiana, we will not make you pay again." Other states say, "I see you paid sales tax in Indiana, you still owe sales tax in this state also, sorry."
F.Y.I the law actualy says: Effective July 1, 2006 the purchase of a recreational vehicle or cargo trailer (as defined in I.C. 6-2.5-5-39) by a nonresident, to be registered and/or titled outside Indiana will be afforded an exemption if the state where the vehicle is to be registered allows a similar exemption to an Indiana resident.

RE: Why Is The USPS Losing Money?

USPS is not the only delivery company that doesn't know which end is up. At my office it is not unusual to have the FedEx Ground, FedEx Express and FedEx Home Delivery there all at the same time. UPS is no better, my UPS deliveries comes from one truck who arrives 10 minutes before my UPS pick-up driver arrives. This kind of overlap will eventualy catch up with FedEx and UPS.

RE: Storage lot regulations

They don’t want junk left there that ends up not being paid, abandoned and a problem for them to get rid of… good for them…
Dito:
A local storage lot owner said that he has over twenty some abandoned cars, trucks, boats or campers on his lot and has stiffened the rules to prevent this. Now he has to go through the legal process to dispose of the vehicles left behind.
