Verizon to get Iphone???

Anyone have any inside scoop if this will happen?? AT&T contract is supposed to be over this second qtr. I doubt if apple will renew know they can make a lot more money letting all carriers sell the product. I am sure verizon would have to name it something else than iphone. My wife's new in 2 is this april and trying to get her to hold out a few more months if this is to happen.

RV.NET screen Loading

I am running VIsta 64 with cable internet at the fastest speed Cox cable has to offer. Recently I had to wipe out HDD and back to factory condition. RV.NET's site is the only one I have trouble loading. It loads like I am on dial up. I am running google chrome as browser. It is not Vista b/c my desktop has vista 64 as well and rv.net loads fine. Sorry, this is on wife's deskttop. Any suggestions?

RE: Goodyear Marathons or Maxxis Tires?

Didn't read the other posts but I think the tire itself doesn't matter. I would be more concerned with your loaded weight to the max carrying capacity of the tires. Here is an example of common practice by boat dealers. Fit a trailer to the weight of the boat empty. Once the boat is loaded with gas and stuff it exceeds the capacity of the trailer/tires. Blowout happens and it is the tires fault. I have not had an issue with tires b/c I make sure I am not overloading the tires. I have gone with whatever brand radial tire available. Now I do have problems with NAILS in the past from the building boom.

RE: Locked out!

My TV has keyless entry so I always leave a spare TT key in the TV. Ditto

RE: Yikes.. we have 3 foot "itis"

I almost made the same mistake twice. We first thought about a trailer when tent camping we were rained on. Two weeks later we were getting ready to buy a pop up and at the dealer to sign for a 15k fleetwood. Luckily wife step into a travel trailer waiting and it was only 3 grand more. We went home and started all over. We then decided to get the RIGHT trailer and not one to fit the bill that time.

RE: Yikes.. we have 3 foot "itis"

sorry to hear that. I learned my lesson with a boat I bought back in 2004 and one yr later I took the hit with a bigger and better boat. When I purchased my TT in 2008 I did not want to make the same mistake. I bought what I wanted not just to have a TT. It will be worth it once you get the new one and enjoy it.

RE: Off topic Home network cable help

Got it to work. It took about 15 minutes to distinguish the proper cable and put a male plug and insert into the router. With coax I have 2 outlets at each plate for 2 dtv cables. With the data cable I only have one. If the two females were close enough I could use a premade data patch cable and plug them into each and then do the continuity test. I got a 3 ft length of cat 5 cable. Crimped a male to one end and inserted it into the female outlet in the wall. I twisted the brown/orange wire. Got into the attic and did the OHM test with orange and brown until I got a reading.

RE: Off topic Home network cable help

I think I will try the continuity test. I had the same problem with all the coax cables for the addition as well. Coaxes were worse b/c I have double the coax to carry to DTV cables but then it was easy to do the continuity b/c I could complete the circuit with a short coax cable. I do have a big roll of cat 5 and some male terminating plugs. I installed and intercom system so i needed the cat 5 and when I put 3 desktops into our office I make my own data cables with the left over cat 5. THanks for the help

Off topic Home network cable help

I had an addition installed a few years ago. The builder installed at certain locations networking outlets. At that point in time I did not have my office and home network set up so I told them to leave cables in the attic b4 it goes down to the media hub. The cables are not terminated meaning they do not have plugs and I can install theme easily. The problem I have now is I need only one of the cables to hook up to my ps3(playstation 3). I tried wifi but the signal is weak due to distance and block walls. Any suggestion how to know which of the 4 wires is the one I need?? The end at the wall/ps3 is terminated and has a female plug. I just need to locate the correct cable and install a male plug to do a wired network connection. The female outlet is too far away from another female for me to connect two females and test in the attic for an OHM reading

RE: Normal slope (if any) with slide out extended?

Leveling the slide depends on the trailers characteristics. I would not try to slope the slide out on purpose for rain run off but that is my opinion. Play with your trailer and see what happens. I level slide side a little high so when I let them out the trailer is level side to side. This helps with bath/kitchen drainage. I prefer a little higher front to back b/c I get headaches feeling I am sloping head down. I also like the a/c to drain in the back as well. My method also ensures my doors close properly. I remember the first few trips I would have to readjust trailer after a day or two. I am happy those days are over with. Seems like a little off level makes water go places you do not want.

Draining hot water tank??

We had a week of 12 hrs freezing temps in FL so I decided to drain lines. I drain all low point drains and opened kitchen/vanity faucets. Getting ready to go camping tomorrow so I fill the fresh water tank. I turn pump on and it takes about 10 seconds to fill everything. Obviously I did not drain my hot water tank b/c it is 10 gallons. How do I drain the hot tank in the future?? I do have a hot water bypass valve as well.

RE: What brand of tire do you recommend

Any radial trailer tire. As long as you are properly inflated and rated then you should be fine.

RE: Towing a "Park Trailer" (Jayco Bungalow)

I would do it. Tow the thing empty if you are concerned. I would not do this more a couple times a year and not too far Don't know what your ratings are but my truck could tow it if the GCWR of the trailer is 12500. What is DOT length limit though for truck+trailer?

RE: Shopping

I would think they have adjusted just like auto dealers have. Lower the inventory and stand a hard line on prices.

RE: Verizon Blackberry tethered to computer?

I have a BB for my work/business. I have the data plan as well. I think it is $45 minus a 20% discount for the company I am associated with. I was told it was like $15/month prorated for days of use. That being said the past few trips I have activated the tether deal. Next trip I will not activate it but will tether it and see what happens on my account. If you do make sure you download the BB rim devise software. I had it for my old motorola phone but forgot to dl for the BB and could not get online.

RE: Slide out motor bogs down when pulling in slide out

Is it a large slide or a small one?? My trailer on one battery (no truck/post hookup) will not "click" at the end bringing in the big slide.

RE: Do I need wd hitch?

ditto, load up stuff. If it sags more than and inch it needs one. Could you get by without one, sure. Would I like to drive with my headlights shooting in the air and less stability?? NO

RE: switching from DTV to dish

If you are ever bored amuse yourself and call dish with this new setup. 2 HD DVR boxes 3 digital DVR boxes. All are independent of each other and all are capable of recording and saving on each individual boxes. Yes, I am spoiled so both kids have there dvr box, master bed, two big screens with HD dvrs. I was ticked at DTV with their initial offer when I wanted the 5th sd dvr box but they finally gave in with my threat to leave Sorry OP to derail the thread WIth Dish that takes 3 receivers. With Direct that's a nightmare. So with 3 receivers I can record the shows for my son to watch in his room?? daughters shows to watch in her room?? The florida game in the game room?? Another football game in the family room?? Wife watching/recording shows in the master?? Why do I need to record football on two boxes on two tvs?? I have a kegerator in the game room so it is nice to stand up and fill the glass. If I need to go into the family/kitchen and prep dinner I can watch in there also. I need 5 dvr boxes. I do not want to be dependent on another box in another room Once again amuse yourself and call dish with a request like that and see what they price.

RE: switching from DTV to dish

I thought about switching to dish recently and decided not to. I am so glad things did not work out b/c i would have had to shell out $600 just to match what I have going. I believe also you have to have two dishes to pick up all channels. It sounds like someone has been telling you some fibs. Dish costs about the same and one dish can feed multiple receivers and pick up all satellites. At home, we feed four receivers off one dish. In the motorhome we have a King Dome feeding one TV and a tripod mounted dish feeding the other. The tripod dish is a Dish 1000 (3 LNB) that could feed multiple receivers and pick up all satellites. There really isn't that much difference between the two services. DirecTV doesn't have Versus anymore, so we switched to Dish. I also like the speed of the Dish receiver vs the DirecTV receiver. RE: DirecTV Remote Question

I think you guys are confused. If your receiver is setup as a dual tuner and is capable of dual tuner then the auto switch might not happen. Reason being is that you can watch one show and record another. Now I think they said some new receivers can record two and watch a third. If you have only one tuner then the system HAS TO swtich to the channel to record. I have a dual tuner dvr bboxes HD AND STANDARD and when I have two scheduled to record tuner will notify my about switching or I can cancel the recording to watch what I am currently watching. I did not use the "two coax" b/c the new dishes are I think SWM and uses a single coax and carries two signals. DTV would not switch my dish unless I was having problems I might be wrong about the auto switch function but have never used it if it existed.
