This is a common problem with them the sensor is in the main unit on top so it doesn't react quickly also if you want 70 in the room you need to set the remote to 78 not very well engineered

We have a couple of cube heaters we got at wally world for under twenty dollars there 750 and 1500 watts thermostatically controlled and fairly quite, normally we just use one for temps down to 20
