Not sure that this is the best forum to post, but if anyone is in the market for a bike rack, check out this techbargains post.

RE: WFCO 8955 Upgrade Advice

I seem to recall reading something about if the size of the wire is not sufficient, there will be issues in being able to use all available charge modes. I thought I read this about this unit, and that in fact it is a good 3-stage unit if wired properly.

RE: Local price vs RV direct price

RE: did you take anything out? what didn't you need in the RV

I found I could save a bunch of weight if I left the M-I-L at her house....you know, it was much more peacefull, too. I know where you are at.... I'm there too. Sometimes you gotta leave the excess baggage, told the DW that MIL could go on no more than 1 of every 4 trips. Well see how that goes. Oh, and we removed the two mandatory optional swivel rockers that came with the trailer, and swapped out the uncomfortable loveseat uncomfortable hideabed for a dual recliner loveseat.

RE: Grounding Generators

Sorry to have re-opened the can..... While it's open, seems the local wally worlds (2) do not have the 30-15 and 15-30 adapter cables that professor95 used to build the gfci. I did manage to purchase everything else though. Should be able to find them on ebay or somewhere. I've learned enough from reading these threads to put this unit in place. Thanks!

RE: Firestone or Pacbrake air bags????

We bought our "no drill" Firestone Ride Rights from Summit Racing, at that time (Jan 2008) was the best price ($257) and shipping was free and quick. I was not as quick as some on the install, but it wasn't very difficult. Prior post on the install with pics

RE: What would you pay?

Why buy used when you can buy new? Have you checked the prices at RV Direct and RV Wholesalers? Bought our FW loaded for little money, saved alot, the trip to pick it up in Elkhart, IN was well worth it.

RE: Grounding Generators

Nice writeup with pics for the homemade GFCI- question- would you feel comfortable running it 24x7 with AC, etc? What is the worst case scenario if it can't handle the current? I see the commercial is $74 for club members, but it doesn't look waterproof.

RE: New Generator - Any advice on Husky

Why don't you check out the Generac site and see how they are built. I just bought the 6500 watt and had it installed in my truck bed to power the fifth wheel. It is very, very quiet. www.generac.com/ They look like some nice generators, I couldn't find any reference to how loud they are, they do look a little pricey however, way way more than a grand and a half for the Quietpact 45G.

RE: Which Professional or Good Quality Buffer/Polisher to buy?

Just purchased this Porter Cable 7424 XP Starter Kit, I had a mess on the front of the FW from a recent trip to central Florida and back, love bugs, don't like them.

RE: New Generator - Any advice on Husky

Might I suggest the Champion 3500/4000 watt for around $350 give or take. Should do you just fine. See the 10/18/09 03:30pm posting by the Professor on this page.

RE: Which Costco Deep Cycle Batteries Are 6 Volt?

Just replaced all four of my 6 volt batteries with the ones from Sams. $66.87 plus a $9.00 core charge. Had a dates sticker on them of 10/6....assume thats 10/6 of 09 :) And COSTCO does not have the 6 volt deep cycle batteries....wonder why? I thought the date stickers on batts indicate the MONTH/YEAR of manufacture?? :h You sure those aren't three year old batts? Just curious is anyone knows as I've purchased automotive batts that had the date stickers that indicated month/year so the seller could identify how old it was for warranty replacement.... The pair I just bought last month at Sam's Club had stickers with 8/09 on them, assuming that meant August 2009.

RE: 3000W Chinese Gensets Info.

A question on bonding... Read this generator-bonding-and-grounding blog and it makes perfect sense. Recall reading a lot of posts in this thread on the same subject and I think the general consensus was to leave the generator unbonded between the neutral and ground. I suppose I'm confused on this now, and asking for clarification with the end goal safety.

RE: TT Makes My Eyes Burn?

You could leave your roof vents open 24x7.... Might want to purchase the MaxxAir vent covers if you don't already have some.

RE: Good Idea ???

Here's the rack we added (local trailer specialty shop). Doesn't haul toys, but I needed something for the 100# generator, the spare rib and the bikes, as well as a blue tote when needed. http://inlinethumb30.webshots.com/21085/2244153910101031474S600x600Q85.jpg
