RE: Importing to Canada from Michigen

#1 - no, you don't pay any taxes in Michigan. The dealer writes " export to Canada" where the tax numbers should be, and they don't register it to you. #2 - Thedealer can issue you a temp plate, which i believe is good for 30 days #3 - Do not bring over $10,000 cash over the border, US Customs has the right to seize it from you!

RE: 2001 Jayco BIG ONE

What was the last year Jayco made the Dual Axle PUP? My in-laws have one from 1975, and still use it every year. It even has an oven. Last year for the dual axle 14 foot box was 2005

RE: The Pinery Provincial Park

thats one thing i have to say about the Pinery....the summer help is not exceptionally friendly...maybe i'm just too used to the awesome Park Staff @ Wheatley The summer help is mainly students and if you weren't allowed breaks and only allowed to eat your lunch if there were no customers in the office and didn't get vacation pay and had to pay union dues even though you don't belong to the union (4% vacation pay is the law in Ontario as is a 30 minute eating period away from work per 4 hours worked) you might not be too happy either!!!!! That is the way of Ontario Parks. I'm gonna keep my mouth shut on this one, cause you won't like what i have to say about this reply! Right now, most should be happy just having a job! I stood in the ranger station the one morning, only there to ask about the weather...one guy was taking care of a camper, three young ladies were looking at the computer screen, and having a chat..did not look at me once, but hey, i'm on vacation...no hurry i guess. Folks, the number one rule in any business, if you are in eye contact of a customer, you at least acknowledge them....and i am, like all others in that park, a customer. When you drive by in a maintainance truck, does it hurt to smile, to wave? Like i said, if you don't like the job, someone else would be very happy to do it for you!

RE: How long will a HTT last?

Keep it closed up when not in use...what i'm saying is, don't leave it sitting all summer in the driveway with the bunk ends out!

RE: Where did all the Kiwi's go?

I doubt the shoe polish story as well. There are only so many words that can be used for product identification and no one would ever confuse Kiwi Shoe Polish (tm) with a Kiwi camper so a trademark suit would fail summarily. Not sure of the Southern Hemisphere attraction. Kiwis (I always thought that was a "fruit") and Roos. Probably better than cartoon characters, though. ;) -- Chuck I think it's a fruit too....but here's why Jayco named their new line of trailers Kiwi (from the 2000 brochure) Kiwi Bird it has thick hairy feathers, a beak one third the length of it's body and no tail. Looks like something between an anteater and a hedgehog, has wings and cannot fly...found only on one island in the world - New Zealand. In spite of it's unusual appearance and behaviour, the Kiwi has survived for around 8 million years without an evolutionary update. We think it's rugged, dependable and obviously at home in the outdoors.....which is why we named our newest product after such an odd bird. The similarities are striking THERES NOTHING IN THE WORLD LIKE A KIWI

RE: Where did all the Kiwi's go?

Jayco hasn't used the Kiwi name for quite a while. they got sued by Kiwi Shoe Polish for brand-name infringement. Jayco quietly dropped the Kiwi name and switched to the Jayfeather name. i think 2003 model year was the last of the Kiwi name. I've heard that one before.... i think someone made that one up. A Kiwi is a bird, and i don't believe for one moment a shoe polish company has that word locked up! They changed it to go along with Jayflight, JaySeries popups etc! Has nothing to do with shoe polish.

Where did all the Kiwi's go?

We were out @ The Pinery Provincial Park last week, and being a new (used)Kiwi owner (my second one), i looked for others around the park...not one could be found, though there were a few jayfeathers. How many in here are still enjoying their Jayco Kiwi...and if so, what year, what model! Or is the Kiwi become an endangered species?

Pinery's New Bathrooms

We were @ The Pinery last week, and have to say, even though loooooooong overdue, they did a teriffic job on the new bathrooms in "all" of the Riverside areas. Heck, even the new outhouses with flush toilets are a wonderful addition. Now, if we can only keep the kids away doing the graffiti thing. Also, there was a previous post about kids throwing rocks at a racoon in the dumpster....must have been the same one that got up on my picnic table and grabbed my bag of hamburger buns.... to me, oh well, we'll get more, enjoy them my little fury friend.....just don't touch the beer :B

RE: June 2009 Sales numbers

First time in 50 years Ford of Canada was #1 in car and truck sales! The blue oval is on it's way...great trucks, and a line-up of cars coming, no wonder...oh, and the quality thing too, we're no longer catching up, they are the leaders!
