RE: Do Electronics Need Surge/UPS Protection with Generator?

I don't think I've ever heard of any television of DVD player being harmed by loosing power. If they DO loose power you just start them up again.

RE: got my Ram 1500 & travel trailer weighed....results inside

Correct. The tires are the width of the stockers, but 1 inch taller. They are a bit heavier too. I've got a lot of experience with much bigger tires and gear swaps. I agree that it makes a huge difference in a vehicles performance.
You're correct. It'll effectively raise your gear ratio giving you better economy and less power. Should still have plenty for that 5,000 lb. trailer.

RE: Help,Toshiba Computer, new broke down 4 times

I'd read the warranty that came with the computer as that's the only way you'll know what your rights are. If it isn't in there, it's not covered and you're dependent on what THEY want to do. Good luck / skip

RE: Do you have to buy a permit to wash your unit?

No fees for anywhere I've ever camped but I've seen LOTS of places that won't allow it at all (which seems perfectly reasonable to me). Why not take it to a truck wash? Of course you'll pay more than that to wash it there so the $5.00 seems pretty darned reasonable to me.

RE: Mic....key....mouse

Mankind has battled to keep rodents out of their food, dwellings etc. since the beginning of time. Not many have been successful. If you park where mice are for a long enough time, they'll find a way in.

I'd be surprised to find out the police had anything to do with those crimes on THAT kind of scale. Maybe they were just responding to them.

RE: 5th Wheel to TT

No REASON a travel trailer can't work great for full timing and the lost storage can easily be compensated for by having a lockable, dry storage in the back of the truck. Just choose the trailer carefully and get one with adequate CCC to handle your needs. Probably a larger variety of 5th wheels than travel trailers that will do that but still plenty of them will.
Of course this was BEFORE I learned that it wasn't necessary hitch up a 5th wheel :H If it turns out THAT'S true then maybe I'll be trading :)

RE: Convertng "Watts" to "Amps" question

Isn't it odd that the simple question was answered by the first reply and there is a full page of the same information, just spelled differently? :)
What ONCE was known (after the first post) is now just kind of mushed up with the rest and MAYBE the OP has his answer :B

Looks like your numbers are WELL below your tow ratings. There are a WIDE disparity in factory tow ratings and as long as you're within yours you're good to go.

RE: AirTabs on their trailer

You would get a fairly nice return on your money about 100,000 miles into using them. Truckers who drive several hundred thousand miles a year have good success with them.

RE: Mold mildew on cushions

Bleach is the kind of "gold standard" for removing molds and mildew from anything so I'd agree that testing in an unnoticeable portion of the fabric but I'd test it with the bleach you might want to use.

RE: Vehicle curb weight?

Curb weight and actual weight could EASILY be a couple of thousand pounds different if he put enough accessories on the truck (and I've seen some that were REALLY REALLY "accessorized" but it would be HEAVIER than curb weight (usually referred to as base weight) not lighter. If the guy had a Dodge that weighed 3600 lb. he must have been a balloon salesman with a full load.

It would be pretty difficult to STOP it when the same law has already been in effect in National parks, COE campgrounds and ELM campgrounds for quite some time. When THOSE bills were enacted would have been the time to put on the brakes.

RE: Shore Power plugged into inverter

My solution is to set up a single set of outlets (entertainment center) and run a connection to the trailer wall. When using the inverter (located within two feet of my battery bank) I simply plug in an extension cord from the inverter to the newly installed port on the trailer wall to make the outlets hot. Those two outlets are dedicated to inverter use only but are right next to the standard outlets but with a red face plate on them.

RE: Has anyone ever taken Lovenox shots for blood clots?

Why would you consider yourself "lucky to be alive" because someone ELSE had a clot? Lovenox is frequently used as a temporary means of thinning the blood after surgery and until a more permanent solution can be implemented (like Heprin). As to the appropriateness of the post, it has more to do with RVing with disabilities than a large share of the pet forum has to do with RVing. IF he is dealing with the daily shots while RVing it's appropriate but not sure what the story in the link has to do with anything.
