Hello,
We are looking to sell our WW FS3000, and get into a 28-32ft 5th wheel.
1. What can I expect in terms of MPG with a 06 F250 CC PSD SWR?
2. What's a good candidate for a 5'ver that won't exceed my TV GVWR?

Or worst case we move into a 25ft for a couple years and see what is available after that.

Sorry to say, but none of the wide body 5ers will stay under your GVWR of your truck.
Unless you look at something like the superlite series by Warrior, or something similar to that.

The LE 3105 or 3305 will fit your truck fine.
As for mileage, it will be the same, around 10 mpg if your lucky.

you can check in on thedieselstop.com for lots of input on mpgs from a all PSD owner web or input on what your truck can carry/pull.
I use axle/tire caps to load my trucks and RAWR in particular as the rear axle carries the load. I tow a 11200 GVWR 28' with two slides with my 2500 with 2200 lbs of pin weight and I'm under all weights. Keep your 5ers pin weight under approx 2500 lbs or your RAWR and you will have no problems.
Nothing wrong with using your trucks GVWR which is well under your trucks tow/haul weight numbers GM gives us to load these trucks.

Pin weight is going to be the issue on an F250. For total gross trailer weight a 6.0 F250 is rated at 16,000 lbs so you should be able to legally handle a sizable unit as long as you don't exceed the rear axle rating on the truck.

As far as fuel economy, I wouldn't expect more than 10 mpg in stock trim. At the same time, I would strongly recommend that you not tow more than 6 or 7,000 lbs in anything but stock tuning on a 6.0. The little bit of money you will save in fuel will disappear fast unless you are lucky enough for Ford to cover the carnage under warranty.

I have that exact Tow Vehicle and tow a 2005 12000lb GVWR Mountaineer 328RLS 5th wheel. Truck engine/brakes/Tow Haul mode have no problem; I hardly even notice that it's back there. Turbo kicks in nicely on hills and interstate driving above 60mph.

PS _ I track my MPG - I average 10.8 but it ranges from 9.7-12.3 depending on speed, hills, etc. I typically drive 60-65mph.

My pin weight is just under 2000lbs - right around the limit for this truck when it's loaded up with hitch, passengers etc.

But this isn't a toy hauler is it ? Toy haulers are known to have heavier pin weights (as a percent of total) to offset the weight you will be putting behind the axles.
