As for kids vs brats, there's really not a distinction in my book, and I only used the term to punish Ray for being both a sissy and a braggart, about being a sissy. Which offends me. Then again, given he was also explaining that his brats need their father for the $100 dollar shoes and the x-box ... well, you do the math. Personally, I think they're probably less "brats" in the traditional sense, than kids with a sissy dad who values stuff more than loyalty, courage, and honor. Your dependents are your dependents. Not because of their species, but because of your commitment.
I can't imagine having grown up with a Dad who would brag about being too chicken to punch out a shark to save a family pet. Heck, my mom fended off two big dogs that were going to eat our Chi mix, decades ago. Beat them off with her purse. And dad is in a wheelchair since his stroke.... only has use of one arm... but I promise you, he sees a shark trying to snap up one of the dogs, my choices will be to restrain him from going after it, or jump in there with him. Which is fine with me. I'd much rather have a one armed dad than a sissy dad.
I'm going to stop now.... I'm going to hide the thread. I'm going to reform my behavior. Really. In a little bit.

Calling kids brats is not how to function out in the world. It is how to insult people who have kids, and how to draw a reaction. So tonight when you read this and laugh about how the world is weak and only a few strong people (like you) are left, think to yourself, what are you doing to improve it. Complaining doesn't do anything, flaming doesn't doing anything, but it is the easy thing to do....
