I have a 2005 31' Granite Ridge on a E450 Ford chasis. I find this hard to understand that I want to get the transmission fluid and filter changed as I noticed it was a little dirty. The unit only has 18,00 miles on it so I thought that I would bring it to a local Ford dealer in case of warranty issues. We live in central Massachusetts and would you believe not one Ford dealer in Worcester County will work on Motor Homes. Not even change the Tranny fluid. The closest dealer is Putnam Ford in CT that will work on motor homes. 39 miles one way. My unit is out of warranty so I will take it to a local truck garage, but what about the poor guy that needs warranty work? I was told by my RV dealer that not too many Ford places like to work on RV's. What happens to the guy with a new Rv on the road and has a problem? Where does he go?

Agreed,
Good Question,
According to Ford:
They have a 24 Hour, seven-days-a-week
Service & Support Center for Class A & C Motorhomes
designed to serve both Motorhome Owners and RV Dealers
Yep, in metro areas with a high density of car dealers, most Ford and Chevy dealers sell and service cars and light trucks, leaving the medium truck business to specialist truck dealers who will then have high enough volume to pay the rent. This means a few scattered around a large metro area, two or three in a very large city, one in a medium size city.
In more open areas of the country, most Ford and Chevy dealers sell and service both cars and trucks, and can handle a RV, ambulance, school bus, step van, etc in the shop. But still, the nearest dealer may be 60, 100, 200 miles away.

Maybe it's just me, but your post is hard to follow. You state in the first part of your post - "in case of warranty issues". Then, you state in the second part - "my unit is out of warranty".
Reagrdless of the rationale for wanting the service done, why are you insistant on a Ford dealer doing the work? Just take it into any quick lube or trans shop and have it done there. Better yet, do it yourself - it's very easy. My local quick lube joint does trans flushes on MH's for 79 bucks.
There is an RV dealer, also in central Massachusetts, in Mendon. According to mapquest, it's 33 miles south from you. I've never been there, but I bought my RV from him from 1000 miles away, picking up mine direct from the factory. Though he works out of his house, his son has a huge repair shop next door to service motorhomes and other vehicles. He is not a Ford dealer, but does work on the Ford RV chassis often. I would think he is a good place to try. I'd like to know if you go there and your assessment afterwards.

I also live in Worchester county, I found a Ford dealer in Ayer Ma. says they will work on them if the work can be done outside the garage.
Flagg RV center in Westboyelston said there is a garage in Worchester that works on motorhomes drive chains.

YUP. Just went thru the same thing before hitting the road.
I made all my plans based on Ford doing the work. wrong!
They refer you to local heavy duty truck repair shops.
AND
Ford will no longer do work on any vehicle if the service people have to go under the vehicle to install or repair it. Henceforth if they don't have a lift to pick up our MH's they won't do the work.
I can somewhat understand that a lift that size costs money to install and it would not be used on a daily basis for them to justify installing those lifts in each and every dealership.
