I wonder if anyone under 50 years of age knows what that is ?
As far as I know, the only Drive-in left in south Florida only operates in the winter time and years ago went to broadcasting the audio thru the cars radio.
Technology is not as beautiful as the post with speakers to attach to your car window.

I definitely remember the signs on the side of the road when I was a kid traveling with my parents on cross-country trips. All the windows were down in the car since there was no A/C. We'd stop at road side parks to picnic on bologna sandwiches and chips. We had so much fun traveling as a family.

I'm 38, and I know what they are. There 3 drive-ins close to here. 1 of them still has the window speakers but they also give you the option of using your car stereo.

They're drive-in speaker boxes. They predate the switch over to broadcast audio. We still have a couple drive-ins here as well, one still has the old posts where the speaker boxes had once been attached. They broadcast the audio now on FM and AM.
Didn't get a chance to go the drive-ins this year, been away from that area of the state too long at the new job.....
