I would install a 225/75-15 D load range 8 ply rated at the minimum for a 28' 5th wheel if its the one in your picture. C load range are just 6 ply rated tire. If your trailer wheels are 80 psi rated the E load range 10 ply rated makes a better trailer tire if your unit is 9000-10000+ GVWR. A ST trailer tire needs all the extra capacity you can install if you have a heavy 5er.

Just wanted to thank everyone for the comments. I have ordered three more Maxxis tires to go with the one I currently have. Will have them installed on Saturday.
Thanks,

Wow now it makes me wonder about the tires on my rig since I have Carlisle tires. I haven't had any problems with them as of yet and didn't realize others were having problems with them.

I am running Maxxis D's on my TT after having the Cheap Duro's go to hell on me. I blew one when it was less then a year old.
So far I am happy with the Maxxis tires. They have been on about 8 months and probably 4-5,000 miles. I would of gone to 16's and Michelin XPS ribs but I don't have the room. That will be on my next trailer.

Well said!
I have had Carlisle's on my riding lawnmower for 10 years. Used Fix-A-Flat to keep them aired up with nary another problem. . Usually run 3-4 mph.

Just keep a Eye on them.
My customers are tire dealers. Carlisle are a problem tire.
I did see the other poster that has thousands of miles on them. That is good just keep a on them.

I just had a blowout on a maxxis tire on my 5er. Upon looking at the other 3 tires, they all were starting to show cracks where the sidewall meets the treads. Lots of tread left on the tires, no visible cracks on the sidewalls or anywhere else but they all showed signs of cracks at the same point as the tire that blew out. Since I was on the road, I was limited to whatever tire i could find so I had a spare & the dealer only carried Carlisle. When I returned home, I did some calling for prices & upon talking to one of the most reputable large tire dealers in my area, he told me that he has sold many, many Carlisle tires and has only had a few problems. He did state, that like a lot of other products out there.. Carlisle makes a "cheaper" brand tires that is sold at "wally world" & other places that isn't as good. I guess this is kinda like the tires car manufactures put on new cars. The new Michelin's on the wifes SUV have been rotated every 3000 miles since the car was new & they are almost shot at 16000 miles. So anyhow, to make a long story short.. I was not impressed at all with the maxxis on my trailer & am trusting the tire dealer & went with Carlisle's all the way around. I guess time will tell !!!
