in reading advertisements for new Travel Trailers< I often run across the phrase "entry level". I've yet to see an ad or report that talks about a traile being "high end" or "mid level. Can any one assist me with this?

If you go to various RV manufacturers websites and look at the floor plans of their coaches, quite often they have them listed in levels. Entry, Mid, Upper, etc. It is all in the level of detail and quality of the fixtures and appliances.

Price?

If you mouse over the tabs, (Travel Trailers, Fifth Wheels, Light Weight, Toy Hauler), a drop down will display on the page. The RV's are categorized into Lower $$, Mid $$, High $$.

Then select some of the units from the Lower and then some from the High and notice the differences.

Aside from price, the stoves, microwaves, toilets, water heaters, furnaces, plumbing, cushions on the seats, mattris on the bed, sinks, hardware, holding tanks, wire, plumbing, are all identical. Tires, frames, propane tanks, light fixtures, outside lights (for the road) are all the same.

So what's the difference? ... Aesthetics! (the way it looks) (Maybe the higher $$$ ones have better cabinets and real furniture instead in built in benches....

Actually, there is often a big difference in fixtures such as hardware, sinks, toilets and seat cushions and matresses. Light fixtures, insulation, windows and frames are different. Although, appliances may be from the same manufacturer, there are different grades and sizes. Real wood or particle board, solid wood or veneer. A cheap foam pad or an inner spring mattress. Enclosed plumbing and heated tank compartments. Go to an RV show and look at models in diffrent price ranges. The interiors are different. Go to the manufacturer's website or look at brochures and see the difference in construction. Often things you can't see. There are reasons some TTs cost more.

The entry level and high end tags are usually spawned by snobbery. A more accurate term is "price point"

Our trailer was a entry level ultra-lite trailer. We had been in a lot of trailers before we bought this one and I have to say that ours is and was built better than more high end ones. Cost a lot less too. You can tell the difference when you walk in.

For meny it's an opinion that if it cost as much as mine it's a "high end" but if it cost less than mine it's "entry level". It's a term you'd be well off to ignore and find one that suits your needs, budget and camping style.

I had the same issue trying to figure out what the term ment. My Zinger is called an Entry Level... I just went for the floorplan that worked for us.

Go to Keystone's website to see how the different models are separated. Good luck!

I have no proof for this but I think an entry level TT is usually built about the same as a high end TT but the difference is in quality of cabinets, lights, flooring, etc. It's sort of like a Chevy and Cadillac--same frame but better interior, sometimes suspension, etc. It's more of a matter of what level of luxury you want.
