You didn't mention a tank in the bed. Did you forget to look up the fact that factory fuel tanks are always assumed full in payloads of passenger vehicles?
Must be jealous....Why would....???? Nothing to do...??? At least Nissan and Toyota are not asking for a bailout (from anyone). Maybe they are further ahead thinking companies...Had a Titan, I found many 5th wheels that it could pull well within it;s capablities. As close to a perfect truck as I have seen. Owned Cheys and Fords as well.

I realize that the advertised H.P. of the Nissan Titan is lower than the 5.7 Tundra V8's advertised H.P., but the Titan accellerates, and tows, as though it's V8's H.P. is way underrated.
I wouldn't put the Titan's 5.6 V8 under the shadow of the Tundra's V8 in power at all.
As for 5th wheels and 1/2 tons, seems like I'm seeing a lot of smaller/lighter 5ths that most likely don't have real heavy pin weights and wouldn't over-tax the bed-payload of the Nissan Titan, Tundra, or most Tow-package equipped 1/2 tons with decent V8's.

On an adventure a couple years ago, I saw a Titan pulling a fifth wheel with multiple slides, much heavier than mine. Obviously overloaded, but it looked like it was fine to me and knowing how underrated the Nissan 5.6 is an engine it just didnt look that big of a deal. Would I do it? No, but it didnt look silly by any means. My Armada is my favorite vehicle EVER and would put it up against anything in it's class as a TV or vehicle in general. The thing is flat out AWESOME. Given the choice of vehicle to drive, I would pick it every day of the week over my CTD. As far a comparisons when SUV shopping, the Armada had it in every way over anything anybody else had to offer including the 08 Toy.

I own a 2007 Titan 4X2 and I also own a 98 Carrylite 36 ft w/3 slides. Are you saying I should not pull my 18000#(fully over loaded)with my Titan.?

I drove a Titan just before I ordered my Tundra and agree, the 5.6 Titan felt about the same as the 5.7 Tundra (which doesn't make sense given the lower HP and 3.30ish or 3.5ish gears in the Nissan versus 4.30 in the Toyota).

Ummm, I believe I read somewhere that the Japanese government has in fact loaned (or maybe given) money to Toyota and Nissan. If I am wrong, someone please correct me as I am not positive and don't have a link to that info handy.
As far as the OP is concerned, there are several lightweight fifth wheels that are well within the capacities of the Titan or any other 1/2 ton truck. Looks like someone just trying to stir the pot to me.
All I said is that I would not tow a 5th wheel with a 1/2 ton vehicle. I have done it myself and did not like it. I had a 24 ft 5th wheel, mid profile and large slide out, and I had helper springs on my GMC also. Granted you may be legal on your vehicle weight (barely), even though the Nissan is rated for over 9,000 pounds total trailer. But towing a 5th wheel (except maybe the smallest with a low profile) is not comfortable in a 1/2 ton. I know I did it. The Jap trucks are improving and have even more capability than the domestic 1/2 tons, but I would not tow the 5th wheel I saw today on I-75 with a Nissan. I am a big boy keep the spears coming I can take it.

This is exactly what I thought until it was explained to me how the Nissan manages it at the transmission. The "Big Tow" package that comes with my wife's Armada is like a 3.35 or something crazy tall like that. It is basically equal to the other's 4:10.
