We're considering a stay 'up there' for a week or two in September in a small trailer. Yes, it's probably their leaf-turning time, so may be all booked. Any recommendations for campgrounds/campground sites? We're looking for full hook-up mostly, but would consider provincial parks. Algonquin? Not crazy about sharing space with bears, though.

This is close to home for me. Arrowhead provincial park is a nice park and one we have always favoured if you can get in.

You won't get full hookups at a provincial park. I wouldn't be too concerned about the bears in Algonquin. If you see one, it is a highlight - just be sensible.

At the Gravenhurst KOA now. They have about ten sites for full hookup and the rest are water/electric(30 and 15 amp). Sewer pumpout is available. Nice park, heavily treed with good sized sites. Fall is a beautiful season to visit this park and Muskoka. Suggest you call Paul at KOA asap for a site!

Are there anymore campgrounds in Gravenhurst, Port Carling area. We are going to a wedding in that area and would like to take a few days. Anyone know of any other campsites available that are well spaced and nice with full hookup.

Best park in the area is the KOA. We have stayed here for six years, two of which were for the full summer. Nice park, but very busy in summer especially on weekends. If travelling here in the Fall, the best week traditionally is the last week of September into the first week of October. It is a bit pricy, but we find that with most KOAs.
I can think of other parks in the area, but I wouldn't stay there...JMHO!

I hear the KOA in Perry Sound is apparently very nice and won awards. One great feature is that you can apparently take your quad if you have one as they have trails in and out of the park! The price is a bit high I think but perhaps worth it!
