One restriction for you to know about - in the Canadian National Parks you cannot overnite anywhere but in the designated cgs. I assume you have reservations in Banff etc?

Also forgot to add that we also used Carr's Safeways in AK. Nice folks indeed. We used the one in Wassilla on two different occasions. Had a bit of a shake up on the day of the earthquake between Wasilla and Talkeetna.

Around us, it's sketchy, some malls permit it some don't. There is a big box Canadian Tire store about a mile from home and I've seen people over-nighting several times. A large mall,,also near us, does not permit it.

I used to see rv's at our local Walmart years ago but lately there haven't been any at all.

The Sault Ste Marie, Ont city council was pressured to prevent Walmart from allowing overnighters but they sided with the store.

There was a law in Nova Scotia banning overnight RV stays at Walmarts etc...I think it's still in force. Here in N.B. I think all Walmarts are OK except the one on, I think, Prospect Rd. in Fredricton.

As I undertand it, in N.S. the law did NOT pass... but because they were so long in deciding, many people have the incorrect impression. As indicated before, it is always best to ask and then you know for sure.
N.S. will be a very long time overcoming that impression that many people have. Decline in tourism was significant all due to RVers staying away. Let us hope that the situation is slowly correcting itself.

Walmart camping in Portage la Prairie, Manitoba is okay. We were just there shopping and there are some RVs in the lot that were there yesterday. As always,'asking first' is an obvious necessity.
