Being the owner of a 07 Jayco23b I have heard more then my share of stories about bed seal leaks. A friend of mine who has the same model and years as mine talked to me about having the dealer check my unit for seal problems. I noticed what I thought were very minor signs of water getting in. The dealer asked me to bring it for an inspection. Much to my surprise they said my unit was a more then likely going to be upgraded. Rick's RV took some photos and two days later said that Jayco will do a goodwill upgrade. This included a completely redesigned front bunk & new updated seals front and rear. I must say having a dealer like Rick's RV makes a huge difference. They really go out of there way to help keep there customers happy. The new front door design looks very promising as far as keeping water out. The entire hinge is covered and the frame has a double bulb type seal. The dealer even want as far as to arrange the replacement of the wood around the front bed that only showed slight water damage. Most of all what ever trailer you buy, get a feel for what the dealer is like. How long have they been around and how is there service after the sale!

The folks at Jayco have come thru quite a few times for folks. Some pretty amazing stories in the cases like yours, when they go above and beyond...even when out of waranty. Glad you got your's worked out! And Kudo's to Rick's also!
A Jayco is not just an RV, it's a way of life!

I wish they could clone Ricks, we could use a few good dealers out here. Of course it would be nice to have a Jayco dealer out here also.

Great for Jayco. I'm sure you would have gotten the same great service if you bought it a thousand miles away, though.

I've heard very good things about Rick's RV in Joliet, my parents got their Jayco from Holiday Hour in Dekalb because it was closer and have had nothing but good experiences from them as well.
Great to see that a dealership is willing to stand up and work on your behalf with the manufacturer.

I have to agree about Jayco customer service. They have always taken care of any problem I have had whether it was dealer iniated or I called.
Recently, of course two months out of warrantee, I had an electrical problem with the converter. DW complained of smelling something melting like plastic or rubber.
She complained enough so that I took it to a dealer in Vermont. The technician was very good and said he would have someone in the office call Jayco to see if they would cover it. However, since I did not buy the tt at their dealership, the higher up wouldn't call Jayco.
I have never had that problem on the road before.
So I paid the bill of $186 and called Jayco. They said that they would cover the cost of the repairs as a good will gesture. I have sent the invoice in and am waiting for a check.
This is my third Jayco and I haven't been disappointed with Jayco's willingness to go the extra mile.

Hello jayfeatherfamily,
Do you know if there is a part number or upgrade kit number for that upgrade? I'm going to ask for the same from my dealer. Might be easier to get if I know exactly what to ask for.
Thanks!!!

There is no part# that I know of. The dealer inspected the trailer and submitted photos to jayco. This seems to be a "goodwill" effort on Jayco's part. You may ask your dealer if they have been doing any door upgrades to other units and ask to see one. Let you dealer take a look at your unit and go from there. The new door is very well made, by a company called "Champion door. The hinge is designed to shed water. This is a continues extrusion that has a built in water diverter. The door seals have changed as well. There is a large outer bulb seal then what looks like two inner seals. Then they remounted my vinyl cover in a reverse manner. There is no daylight showing thru the hinge when the bed is in the open position.
