The aluminum trim on my class C, around the cap over and down the corners, etc. is about 1" wide on top and about 1/2" on the lip (over-lapping the side). Do they make a wider trim, like 1x1 or something? The 1/2" coverage is just to small. Already have a problem and I'm going to have to take it off, but I'd like to go back with something much more substantial if I can.
This place has aluminum trim, but very expensive shipping ($40)

That said, I'm checking out a place in Washington today about 1 hour away, Cascade RV near Roy, WA. They are suppose to have the plastic type exterior trim (so says Camping World)

Hey, that would be great...If you find something, can you please send me the links, etc.? I found this: http://www.shoprvparts.com/product.do?no=14175F but don't know what it would take to bend it around corners without kinking, etc.

I contacted two RV repair yards here locally, they both only carry the aluminum extrusion. They want $70 a stick (16 feet). I would need 20 feet, and I don't feel the cost justifies the end.
For now, I am planning to seal up my edges with 2" eternabond tape until the spring. This has worked for Memoryroads and his RV for a good 8 months. In the spring, I will remove the eternabond and then do a good glass job over the edges. My edges are sealed with 3m 5200 which is great stuff, I have confidence I could go without anything due to the waterproof 3m 5200 but it wouldn't look that good!

Good luck with that! I'm wondering how hard that's going to be?
Well, my labor is cheap! Cheaper than $140 worth of trim!
Removing Eternabond shouldn't be an issue with MEK. It will be on fiberglass.
I liked the results this fella got with his.
YEP that is what I am going to be doing as well. George is a great guy and had his rv ms Tioga had all her corners rounded and trims replaced with fiberglass. I talked to george a bit ago to see how the fiberglass work is holding up and he says just a few stress cracks. With how much George and Tiogo travel, I know I am going with the fiberglass corners and trims. I wish I could just drive across the border and have the guy that did ms Tioga do mine. I will do it myself and pocket the $$$$$$$.
Good luck and Safe Camping, Robert.
The Setup:
96' Serro Scotty 25'Dodge,4x4,Diesel,Class-C, 86 20' Chris Craft LTD.
The corners were first beveled and rounded with a rotary grinder. The adjacent area where the fiberglass is applied was roughened.
Three layers of fiberglass cloth strips were applied, about 6" wide to the beveled corners. After all the corners were fiberglassed, the last thing that went on was the fiberglass roof. The edges of the roof went over the filon to make the roof and walls one piece.
