Same deal on my '06 Seneca 34SS. Take a hole saw to the clear plastic cover to make an opening and you can leave the camera where it's at. Still have to clean the lens occasionally but that is true no matter the setup....

The 2009 models have the camera on the outside. The 2006 model had them behind the plastic.
