We've been RVing for over 12 years now and every year I do some spring cleaning. I rotate any food in the pantry and get rid of stuff we don't use. It's amazing what we have collected over the years.

This year we bought a new 5th wheel and I really went through things we never used and got rid of them. I took a lot of stuff out of the kitchen. An electric mixer, an iron, duplicate untensils. I had quite a collection of stuff animals I gave away too. The DH cleaned out the storage area below and got rid of some stuff too.

We host two RV.net rallies a year and have some "rally stuff" that we decided to box up and only take when we have a rally.

It's been 5 months and 14 trips later and so far we haven't missed anything we removed.

Terryallen:
I took them out and she didn't whine. She was getting tired of her own friends coming over. That sure slowed them down when they had to sit at the hard picnic table. I think the five we still have is too many.
Another item I cleaned out was the months worth of canned and other groceries. Finally convinced the boss that there is grocery stores out on the road. You don't have to buy everything before you hit the road.

I found I could save a bunch of weight if I left the M-I-L at her house....you know, it was much more peacefull, too.

Cast iron dutch oven, dress-up clothes, and camp stove come to mind right now.

I would like to take out all of our glass dishes, but I don't have any where else to store them. I think we have used them once since we started camping. Nobody wants to wash dishes.

I know where you are at.... I'm there too. Sometimes you gotta leave the excess baggage, told the DW that MIL could go on no more than 1 of every 4 trips. Well see how that goes.

Oh, and we removed the two mandatory optional swivel rockers that came with the trailer, and swapped out the uncomfortable loveseat uncomfortable hideabed for a dual recliner loveseat.

We took out four fold up chairs (ain't they all?) and the fold up picnic table that very seldem got used.. I'm trying to convince the wife we don't need 15 lb of coffee when we take off for our four month trip back east each year. It's Costco Coffee, is there any other??.. The funny thing about it we found a Costco store about a half hour away in SC where we go..

Here I thought they were a Left Coast chain store

We're F/T RVers and have some dress-up clothes on board at all times. Once in a while we need them. Last May we were at Disney World and a nearby relative died suddenly. We were able to go to the funeral wearing something other than shorts and a T-shirt.

I go thru the unit once a year remove any thing that I have buriedd and not used during the past year. Would love to leave out DW fine collection of patio lights a last count she had 12 different sets. Needless to say I all ways put up the wrong set, and have to change over to another set. I did manage to lose the jokers out of her card set, and she still has not noticed
