Hi All... well I got my tow bar question answered now I need some help with deciding which satellite to have installed on my MH. I am thinking about the KVH standard set up as I don't care about in-motion. Also wonder about Winegard as they seem to have been around for so long. I was at the Pomona RV show and think I found a good deal on both the dish and the install. Thought about carry-out models but figure they will just walk away and don't want the cords hanging around! What's the best in all your experiences? thanks

If you don't care about in-motion, don't bother with the KVH or any of the other "dome" setups as they have a variety of issues. The only 2 to look at are either Motosat or Winegard. When my old Winegard AS-2003 broke I was all ready to plunk down the $$ for a Motosat, until Winegard made me a swingin' deal on a SK-3005. All I can say is that after having installed this antenna and using it, it is every bit as good, probably better than the Motosat. Winegard obviously did a serious amount of homework on this unit. HERE is a recent thread on it.

You already know that you will never get into trouble w/ Winegard,....they are everywhere.
Motosat is like chevron, they think they can just name their price and you will pay it,....and their right, some will. For myself, I love my Kingdome.

If you want to receive ALL of the satellites at one time a dome will no long do that. There is no HD on any of the domes now without loosing your other channels. I am removing my Kingdome and will be installing a Winegard Traveler that has all 3 LNB's and will receive HD just like at home. The Traveler will find the sats in less than a minute, where the dome take forever. The price of the Traveler is about 1/2 of that of a dome.

I had the Winegard SK3005 installed c couple of months ago. It works exactly as advertised. I'm as happy as a clam at high tide.

Another vote for the Wineguard Traveler. Great dish, finds sats anywhere and gets excellent reception. I would not be without mine.

This is only true in regards to DirecTV.
