Let's see-their guru, Al Gore flys in a private jet to meetings to tell all of us PEE-ons that we need to conserve or pay increased taxes for our "Carbon Footprint". I wish all of you carbon spewing RVrs would come to Las Vegas today to raise our temps a little, it's 40 degrees today here in the desert with no sign of Global Warming.

Thanks for all the support. We feel the same way as most of the responses.

We did not respond to the lady. I thought that I need not argue with someone who's IQ is so low!! LOL

I can't help but think that our impact on the earth is much, much less than the average house.

Also, we have been told by another woman in a shopping store parking lot that we should not park such a big truck near the entrance. I guess she could not see the disabled permit in the windshield. By the way, I would happily trade the disabled permit for a pair of good legs. !!

My biggest concern about my carbon footprint is if I get it on my carpeting what can I use to clean it?.........

NOT that I've put a pencil to it, but off the top of my head I would have to say the the carbon footprint of a stix/brix house is LESS, per sq ft, than that of an RV. All that space, convenient and comfort of a foundation house is NOT going to come for free.
Can you imagine how 'green' you could be if you'd be willing to live in a properly-engineered foundation house that was only 350 sq ft? Perhaps, the day will come when we WON'T have a choice.
Meanwhile, I will do my share and not burn too much diesel(by not going very far, OR not as often).

Call me a cynic... but this whole carbon thing seems like just another great excuse for government to regulate, gain power and tax.

I understand that cows emit a bunch of greenhouse gas - so you can always tell the treehuggers to stop eating beef and drinking milk.

I'd also heard that the whole locovore thing is a crock too btw. The emissions to transport food are tiny compared to the range of emissions for producing it... and in areas with lower cost of labor there are less emissions in producing.

back to the OP though... yes, living in an RV consumes WAAAYY less than living in a house and driving a Prius, no matter what your tow vehicle does. Just don't be starting any campfires.

btw - the other day I saw some scientist with ideas for how they could "dial back the global temperature to anything they pick" IIRC they said it could be done for less $$'s than Al Gore has spent so far on "awareness". Then again... if they miscalculate I suppose they could trigger another ice age and no one beyond a few Caribou and Polar bears would be happy about that

I usually have one of three answers depending on how jokingly they said it...

"Yes, but does your car sleep 6?"

"Right, but the car I'm towing uses nothing, so that cancels it out."

"Ain't she a beauty? Think how many American workers have jobs because of us."

This woman is probably so dumb that she could not change a light bulb without Al Gore or consumer reports giving her turn by turn instructions and advising her on which foreign made bulb to purchase. Not worth my time to even answer.
I agree with other posters, someone is going to make a lot of bucks off of the sheeple from this.

The greenies are out there, and they are mean... we drove our motor home through Washington DC last Sunday, a beautiful day, hubby had his window open and a guy on a bicycle passed us and shouted M******f****** at us when he went by.
I guess he was mad that our moho's carbon footprint cancelled out his green transportation.

I mentioned to my greenie relative to think about how much petroleum was used to make her vinyl siding, her asphalt roofing, the synthetic carpeting and drapes and oleflin fabric furniture and mattresses, the coatings on her floors, and how often she changes the polyester fabrics and furnishings in her huge 4 bedroom home.
