March in North Florida can be quite cold at times or very warm, unless you like really crowded conditions you don't want to go to South Florida. Try these, Henderson Beach SP, Topsail Hill SP, Grayton Beach SP, St Andrews SP. There is a 14 day limit at each. IMO, these are the best beaches in Florida by far. I have pics of some of these in my photo link.

We just camped at Grayton Beach this weekend. The new loop is open and very nice. Large sites will handle the biggest rigs. Full hook-ups. No shade as it seems they took out a lot of trees to make this new loop. Great for satellite reception though.

We camped in the old loop with our popup. As nice as the new loop is we'll probably never reserve it unless nothing else is available. Our small popup would look funny in such a large site. Plus, I wouldn't want to keep a larger rig from getting a spot when our wee popup can fit in any of the smaller sites in the old loop.

We especially like the deep southern gulf coast. Try something around Naples. It will be expensive and always warm. The cold fronts seldom make it too cold to be outside. Naples is a resort city with beaches, shops and an active community. Bikes are a favored means of transportation. Close by is Marco Island with some fantastic beaches. We have never used it, but there is some public transportation, but in Florida, cars rule the road.

We have not been here but someday we'd like to try it. Crystal Lake RV Resport. In Naples.

We prefer COE CGs and go to Ortona South often. But March times are probably already taken. It's very popular with the snowbirds. If you do end up this far south though and it's convenient take a drive over to it and see if its a possibility for another trip.

See some pics -- read more about it here. That's a link to Florida CGs we have visited. Ortona is listed beneath the city of LaBelle.

Hi Lucy -
Thanks so much for the information. You have a great web site. I just retired last week (hubby still working), but we are planning a month long trip in our 5th wheel in March 2010. I think we will try staying around Naples and take day trips from there. Everyone tells us the Topsail SP is wonderful, but it might be a little cool in March. We do want to check it out though...maybe for another time. Now that I'll have more time, I'd like to do some more sewing. Quilts really interest me and yours look beautiful! Do you have a certain type of machine that you like to travel with? I'm in the market for a new one, so I was just wondering. Lucy, you have so many categories on your web site, but I noticed you don't have one for recipes. Have you every thought about that? I'm always looking to share recipes. I didn't mean to be so long winded....with all your pictures and information, it seems like I really know you.
Thanks again Lucy.

If the Crystal River/Homosassa area interests you, check out ELITE Resort Crystal River. You mentioned liking nature so this campground would be to your liking. Ample sized, full hook-up sites, cable, wifi at each site surrounded by natural Florida trees/landscaping. The resort is roughly 5 minutes from both Crystal River and Homosassa which means restaurants, shopping etc. Check out the website for pictures and info.

Look at holidaycoverv.com if you have bikes you'll be at the beaches on Anna Marie Island in ten minutes.
Less than an hour south of Tampa/St. pete
Smal park, I think there's 97 or 98 lots. There are activities if you chose to partake, it's very clean, brick paver pads and paved roads.
Nice pool, other that that your on you own.
Beautiful area, gorgeous beaches and really nice people.

There are some state and federal parks in the Everglades around Everglades city. Pricing was cheap at about $9. Some have 50 amp service also, but no onsite sewer. It is a wonderful area to camp. I believe they have a 14 day limit.
