Ground reconnaissance, hum.....we just call it "driving around looking", but this sounds much more effective. Stumbled onto some information I had gathered about potential CGs yesterday and found one that sounds really good and it keeps us in our target driving area. This was our last weekend for this season and we were at J.P. Coleman in NE Mississippi. The site I wanted to reserve were already taken, so just took my chances with #57. Oh!!, perfect for us. Maybe 40 feet to the water, view across the TN River, trees, level site. What more could we ask for. We're going to make reservations for a couple of trips next year and at least 1 for the CG about 20 miles further south that I had totally forgotten about. So, that's 3. We gotta do some of that ground reconnaissance - even better if we come upon a winery we haven't already discovered. Maybe it won't be such a long winter after all.

JP Coleman SP (MS). Right on the water. Full service site. Our last week with the Bayside. Sold her the next week, immediately upon return to Ohio, and bought the Roo 23SS. The Bayside was wonderful. Lack of clothes and other storage pushed me over the edge.

Just tucked our Roo 23SS away this evening after our 2nd season with her. We camped 27 nights this year, wish it were more! The past week-end here in Northern Illinois was absolutely beautiful but there was too much on the schedule to get away.

We were blessed to have perfect camping weather this past weekend when we camped. The moon rose late into clear starry skies. I couldn't believe it was Novmeber. I felt like we were being given a gift. Not done for the season yet...knock on wood.
We really don't ever truly winterize and are hoping for a few more good weekends before the winter sets in.

I love that term..so much better than he's off wandering the campground. From now on "Dear I have to go do some ground reconnaissance for our next camping trip.

I just blew out the lines and dumped a couple of gallons of RV anti-freeze in the Cub today. Done for the season. If I do any winter camping it will be in a tent and I will REALLY miss the htt.
